Mad Fish St Pete Beach redefines coastal cuisine with a simple philosophy: freshest ingredients, no deep fryers. Situated on Gulf Blvd in St. Petersburg, we let the natural flavors of our local seafood and prime cuts of steak shine through expert grilling and sautéing. While competitors rely on heavy breading, we serve lighter, more flavorful dishes like our signature Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon inside a charming, historic dining car. Join us for an elegant dinner where quality comes first.

..this place looks like a diner, but literally everything is made from scratch, including the kids menu.
We had this coconut curry seafood and Angus ribeye for our entrees,… We also had flash fried brussel sprouts and oysters rockerfeller for apps.
Everything was incredible, and clearly fresh. The kids meals were even fresh made. Our 8 year old tried some seafood for the first time and loved it!
The owner Mark greeted us and kept tabs on us the entire time.
If you guys find yourselves in St Pete Beach, I know there are plenty of tourist traps, this place is legit. We are sort of foodies, so we appreciate a good meal, and this hit on all cylinders.

Love coming here! Now they have cocktails! The staff is always warm and welcoming. I always like to try something new so we started with the baked goat cheese and candied pecans, highly recommend! For our main course we decided on the Chateubriand for two. WOW! WOW! WOW! It was probably one of the best meals we have had here! If you are looking for a really good meal on the beach this is your spot!

MadFish on St. Pete Beach is an incredible dining experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is unique and inviting, with a stylish retro vibe that sets it apart. The staff are outstanding—warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, always ready with great recommendations. The seafood is some of the freshest you’ll find, cooked to perfection with bold, creative flavors. The steaks and sides are just as impressive, making it a perfect spot whether you’re craving surf or turf. Cocktails are well-crafted, and dessert is a must to finish off the evening. Every visit feels special, and the quality and service are consistently top-notch. Five stars all the way!

Six of us went for Valentines Day, with a 5:15 reservation, outside seating. Appetizers were quick to come out, but the bread promised by the waiter did not appear until we flagged him down to ask for it an hour after we were seated. And he missed the salad for one of our group, even though it was her only appetizer and the rest of us had already enjoyed an appy, so she had to wait for it.
We did not get our entrees until 7 p.m., almost two hours after we sat down!
And at 7:50 I was tasked with going inside to try and get our bill. I handed him my credit card and stayed there waiting. At 8 p.m. a manager walked by and I expressed my frustration to him that we had been there almost THREE HOURS. He went to find the waiter, and we finally got out of there.
While we were not happy with the service (hence only a 3 star review), the food was fabulous. We enjoyed the shrimp and salad appetizers, the Seafood Pasta and Stuffed Grouper were amazing, and while the Shrimp and Scallop on rice was judged to be good by the three who ordered it, they did feel the rice was a bit starchy and it needed a bit more sauce as it was a bit dry.
We will go back as the food overall was really good, but never again on a special occasion.
Another disappointment – the online advertised Valentine’s Day menu (surf and turf for two with salad and dessert for $109) was not on the menu when we were there. Instead, it was $75 per person, with a choice of three appies but no salad option, and an additional $49 per person to add a lobster tail. Ridiculous pricing.

The food was OK. My husband‘s food was amazing. He had the grouper and shrimp. I had ordered the scallops and shrimp. My scallops had a funny flavor to them and I wasn’t really a fan. My parents ordered crabcakes and shrimp. My dad loved his food and my mom food was good. However, it literally took a lifetime to receive our food. We waited over an hour just for bread and then another hour for food. We arrived around 620 and we did not leave till almost 9 PM. We did not order any appetizers. All we ordered was our dinner and a few drinks. Overall, the experience was good. I did wish it wouldn’t take so long to receive our food because we did have other plans because it was my mom‘s birthday and was not able to make it to those plans. I’m not sure if it’s normal or not to have to wait this long for food.

Had a very brief interaction with the owner/manager, Raymond…. Maybe 45 seconds to place my order for a breakfast sandwich. In that short span of time I was amazed at how warm, friendly, witty, hard working, and intelligent this manager is. At the same time he was being swarmed by a frenzy of cooks, customers, and servers (all while also cooking on the grill)… He took the time to be inviting, friendly, attentive, helpful, and gracious. Absolutely an amazing person. The wait-staff was equally friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
I just got a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, but it was the best breakfast sandwich that I’ve ever eaten in my life. I will return many times in the future just for that same breakfast sandwich.
My only caution with this restaurant is that it is extremely popular; and, thus was super-busy when I was there (at peak hours). The beach is about 10 yards away from the restaurant; so, if seating isn’t available, I’d recommend ordering the food to go and just eating it at the beach… which, is just as enjoyable as eating inside.

What a great find for my last night of vacation. I’ve had oysters on the half shell and seafood every day. This place won for my best overall experience with food and service by far. Elizabeth was an amazing server with full knowledge of the menu items. Compliments to the Chef and the entire staff!

Our appetizers (crab cake & drunken island shrimp) were very underwhelming and portions were small for the price. My entree (American Snapper) was delicious, cooked to perfection, and the butternut squash risotto was amazing. My girlfriend’s entree (lamb rack) was really good, but portions were small and the lamb itself was fatty. Not worth the $50 price tag. Overall, we were a bit disappointed with the atmosphere and the prices were too high for the quality of the food and the portion size. However, service was great and they have some other very intriguing menu items, so we’ll definitely give them another shot.

This review is for The Frog Pond (inside Mad Fish)- we ate breakfast here and it was all delicious! The owner, Raymond, was incredibly hospitable and made sure we were well taking care of. The granola bowl with banana bread (their own homemade) was EXCELLENT! And the Jacques Cousteau omelet was to die for! Go, just go. You will NOT be disappointed

Literally the best brussel sprouts we’ve ever had…and the best risotto we’ve ever had. I got the shrimp and scallops with Parmesan risotto and spinach and it was delightful. My BF thoroughly enjoyed his grouper and shrimp with risotto and spinach. Homemade key lime pie was yummy and not over tart. And Klein was a very attentive and kind server. We felt special having a lovely date night dinner. 10/10 would recommend.
