This place is a solid 4 star spot. I got the lo mein noodles. The flavor was great. I added chicken thigh and that’s where they lost a star. Chicken was bland and could have been better cooked/seared. So much flavor everywhere else though.

We dined in a few months ago, it just occurred to me that I can post this review and hopefully it will be seen. I think this is a good spot, maybe I just ordered the wrong stuff. Biggest complaint: The cabbage “salad” is horrible. Literally just giant pieces of squeaky fresh cabbage that is inedible. It needs to be changed, maybe cut finer and marinated in dressing so it can break down a little bit? The chicken in the chicken soup was good and tender. It is a kids meal so it makes sense that it may be more on the plain side. It was freezing cold outside so it hit the spot TBH. Wontons were good, fried rice was goo. Maybe I just need to try other stuff to be really satisfied

Food was excellent here. The dumplings and fritters were great. The pork belly was one of the best I’ve had around. Service and atmosphere complemented the food fabulously. Best egg tarts in Chicago. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stopped into NoodleBird while visiting Logan Square, and we’re so glad we did. Everything we ate and drank was absolutely delicious. The Pork & Ginger Dumplings, Charcoal Chicken, and Ginger Lemon & Turmeric Soda were all standouts and definitely worth ordering. I also loved the thoughtful detail of the owner’s grandparents’ photos on the bathroom doors. It was such a sweet, personal touch. We’re already looking forward to eating here again the next time we’re in Chicago.

Been a while since I stopped by. I won’t make that mistake again. We order a bunch of dishes to share – pork/ginger dumplings, shaved brussel sprout salad, grilled half chicken, tofu veg curry, steamed rice and chicken in banana leaf, a delicious skinny noodle dish who’s name I can’t recall, and a few glorious pastries from their newly opened bakery next door. Every dish delicious, full of flavor, and unique. Can’t recommend the food enough. Expecially the peanut mochi from their former iteration which I’ve been dreaming about for a few years now – and its back. We ordered two!
It’s semi self-serve. You order at counter, get your own silverware, and they bring out the food. Some people seem to have a problem with this, but it worked very well for us. Everyone very friendly and helpful. I’m glad this place has come along so well.

I’ve only ever ordered delivery, but the good has been excellent every single time, and I’ve ordered maybe 10 times at this point. Everything on the menu I’ve tried so far from the charcoal chicken to the curry chicken hand pie to the desserts have been amazing. Bonus points for all the gluten free labeling and options they have which is great for my family that deals with allergies.

Such a great place! Came here for dinner on a Friday night, wasn’t too crowded, but there was a steady stream of people. I loved the interior decor and the whole self-service water and utensils with ordering and paying from the table QR code. We got the chicken curry hand pie, the char siu bun, 2 pc egg tart, steamed chili peanut noodle, shrimp and garlic dumplings and spicy cucumbers, all for 2 people! And everything was great, we were really stuffed and the egg tart was so so good! All the food came out pretty quickly too. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t mind going back to try all the other things!

Mgmt was rude and awful service. Phone ordering not the best to navigate. My partner and I had tried to order properly on their phone QR menu and the vegan options are bit hidden on some options. We asked for a minor comp on some of the wasted curry we put on something that wasn’t vegan and the manager got super defensive about it. Her tone was abit of talking down to my partner I had felt, kinda the “you’re a Karen no you ARE wrong” type of projection. Which seems to be an undertone a lot in the sociopolitcs these days in food services. The whole time this made the eating experience sour and quite frankly we go here for the convenience. But after that experience we definitely wont be spending any more money here. Super Khana down the street had made a mistake once not showing a peanut ingredient on menu item I was allergic too they comped the whole dinner and gave us a whole comp dinner afterwards their management called me personally to apologize which was amazing experience . They even finally changed the menu with that listed peanuts. Huge difference in service no projections. If the management of noodle bird had done better we definitely would even tipped they to make up for a 2-3$ minor comp cost instead of having to deal with a self compassed projection/reaction.
Do better, what’s even sadder is that they’ll laugh reading this feeling good treating customers like an inconvenience instead of fixing a problem professionally. We get veganism is dietary inconvenience these days cause most people are prejudiced in their own dietary beliefs but it’s best to keep it yourselves when working in the industry.

Excellent food and atmosphere. The service is solid, but left a 4 out if 5 stars for that bc it’s mostly self service and not a ton of human interaction. Their egg custard tarts are a wonderful treat. The Lu special is such a wonderful nostalgia hit, evoking hamburger helper in the best way with a curry forward flavor possible that is quite delicious. Spicy smoked chicken fried rice is very flavorful and the added touch of puffed rice provides nice textural pops. Their chili oil is a very nice compliment to their dumplings. Overall a great go to spot when looking for casual Asian fare with a twist.

Food here is pretty tasty, the service fine for it being a fast casual spot, and the interior is cozy and highly decorated. We ordered the corn fritters, half chicken, dan dan noodles, milk tea, and some egg tarts. The corn fritters and entrees were both very solid dishes and full of flavor. The milk tea is definitely on the less sweet side. The egg tarts were ok. The pastry of the egg tart is flaky and baked really well, but the custard is not nearly as sweet as I would prefer. If you like portugese egg tarts or typical sweet custards in general you may not like the ones here—they’re just not very sweet. I felt like the custard was a slightly sweet scrambled egg. The texture was a little broken and not as smooth as I believe they should be. Overall a good place if you’re looking for some Asian comfort food.
