The place was freezing. I asked to turn the air down but it didn’t stop despite them saying they turned it down. The refried brand were cold. The deep fried burrito was just ok. There’s very little lettuce and tomatoes to pilot on top. The charge .99 for the ridiculously small sour cream. There’s a sign also stating that they are going to charge for any additional chips and salsa It Feels Like everything is a charge.. if you’re Mexican restaurant and you offer chips and salsa its par for the course. I won’t be back. The staff were friendly. That’s the only good thing.

Would give negative star if I could. Racist very unwelcoming to people of color. I asked about Wednesday drink special and was told location did not have any drink specials. However a friend of the family contacted location and was told Wednesday drink special was Margaritas. I was not offered drink special and paid full price. Food was delivered fast and cold. People of color avoid this location.

Where else can you be transported South of the Border, just by driving South of Route 30 on Broadway.
It might seem like just another regular Mexican restaurant but it looks and tastes superior to many of the others. Not only is the restaurant Bright and Cheerful, but very clean and inviting. Extra love added to your plate is just what each dish needs.
We have been going here for years. Adam and his staff are always busy, but very attentive from start to finish. Everyone helps each other, down to the smallest detail. It definitely is Service with a smile.

What a pleasant surprise that a friend found this place trying to find a Mexican restaurant on our way home from Chicago.
Whenever a restaurant has horchata, more likely than not, it’s going to be a good experience. This horchata is up there near the top of my favorite list. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Food was brought out fast. It ended up being tasty. No wonder there were so many people there. Oh, and by the way, they serve and sell their own hot sauce too

I’m VERY disappointed in my door dash order. I received cold tacos, and Garnachas. The garnachas barely had any chips, the Cheese was not melted. It’s like they just threw the cheese on top and threw it in the microwave. Considering I’m a frequent customer im very much dissatisfied and disappointed.

I’ve been a patron of this Pepe’s since I moved to Merrillville in 2007. Adam, the owner, is great. Treats us like family. He has also had many of the same staff there for years and they are great as well. I don’t think our order has ever been wrong, and food comes out quickly and hot.

We ordered the beef tamales with guacamole and Pico for an appetizer. It came out fresh, nice, and hot! For our dinners, we ordered the steak burrito dinner and the 3 beef taco dinner. The 3 taco dinner was fresh, hot, and tasted amazing! The burrito dinner was perfect as well. Our food and service were great! We will definitely be returning
