This might be the first negative review I have ever left. We have given this location so many chances and it just keeps getting worse but this was my last straw. I order a delivery order from here at least once a week and it is messed up every single time. I can get over that, but we just went and had dinner here with friends and this was in my husbands burrito. They made a new burrito for him which was nice, but we were so grossed out that we couldn’t finish our food in the first place. I have always loved cafe rio but I don’t think I can eat it again after this. I’m not sure if it’s arteries or what it is but it was so disgusting.

Can’t rate the food because I never got it. This location managed to take an hour to attempt to make 2 soups and a quesadilla. I got fed up and cancelled at the hour mark and the order hadn’t even been started. When I called 30 minutes in I was reassured it was 5 more minutes. It obviously was not. I’m not sure how that order can take over an hour unless management severely understaffs and forces a skeleton crew to run a Friday night. Had to cancel and go to another location. I don’t blame the employees, but I’m now sure that the management here is trash. If it’s the middle of the day on a Tuesday or something I guess go for it. A Friday or Saturday? Don’t waste an hour of your life like I did and just go somewhere else.

The District location managed to get the order out by the time our delivery driver had arrived to get it. About 5 minutes. It’s not much further, I see they have bad reviews too but I certainly had a better experience there than at this one.

Edit: I’m reading other reviews and the management can kindly stop responding apologizing for this situation and promising to make it better repeatedly. If you want to improve things, do it. Don’t put one of those fake, empty replies on my review.

I ordered shredded chicken quesadilla I got a grilled chicken quesadilla with two pieces of meat in it.
I ordered queso and chips and I got the queso and a 2 ounce container instead of a 4 ounce container. I went back in and they told me that that’s their new size of the 2 ounce container.
I asked for lettuce on the side and they put the lettuce in a 2 ounce container.
This is the worst takeout I have ever received.

I don’t ever leave reviews but this is HORRIBLE!! Ordered online at 6:30pm said the order will be ready between 7:20-7:30pm. I showed up at 7:18pm and there were 30-40 people waiting for their online order. I finally left at 9pm they told me I have to call customer service to cancel my order. So I tried multiple times to call customer service and they were so busy I never got the call back until the next day because the customer service closed even tho they had a bunch of people in the queue. Another thing that was really irritating they kept making anyone in line their food, but would not make any online order to get them their food. Multiple times there would be no one in line and the staff would just stand there and talk. Like hello start making food for the online customers. If you decided to just get in line and just order that way they would not honor and coupons you used. Plus you still have to try and cancel your online order. I was already invested waiting thinking maybe it will just be 10 more minutes then another and another etc. 2.5 hrs from when I ordered is a joke and who knows how longer after that the food was actually ready. Maybe get a tv showing the queue so people know where they are at in line. I don’t go to this restaurant very often and will never be going back again. I don’t care what location it is, I’m done. I have never experienced this kind of wait for food in my life. Plus in general that locations quality is the worst I have ever experienced, the tortillas are always hard as a rock, over cooked. This location really needs to figure out its online order situation. I placed an online order today and it was about a 40 minute wait until I was suppose to pick up my food. My pick up time was 7:40, I didn’t receive my food until 8:07 according to my receipt, which is about 30 minutes later than my original pick up time.

I’m not one who typically gets upset over a wait, however, upon arriving at home I realized my order was incomplete. I got a bowl and all it had was meat, rice, lettuce, and chips. My salsa, cheese, and sour cream were all missing from my order, which made my meal disappointing and more upset about the wait.

Worst wait we’ve ever experienced and the store refused to refund any orders. We received the email that our food would be ready by 8:50 and we did not receive it until 10:40. Nearly two hours. They had line crew just sitting there and not helping with online orders, although they had the time to help. And the manager did not instruct them to help either. Bags of food just waiting to be picked up either due to customers giving up or DoorDash drivers changing their minds. Which I do not blame them! Hardly anyone has the time to wait, and not get the order completely right.

Second visit in a row where food isn’t ready by the pick up time we chose when ordering ahead. First time was over a month ago and they appeared short staffed. Today, we ordered for a pick up at 6pm since we had a great coupon to use. Arrived at 5:50 and once again, they were severely understaffed and backed up. So we weren’t shocked that our food wasn’t ready right at 6pm. But 30min later?? It’s insane. This location is never staffed well and it’s a miracle our food wasn’t messed up like it was the last time. I’d rather drive 5 extra min to order from the location at the district because I at least know they’re staffed well and we won’t wait super long for our food.

Store was empty and food still wasn’t done on time. When I took my food home it was not hot and seemed like it had been sitting out and I didn’t feel comfortable eating it. There were no straws at the soda fountain and the lids a complete mess, not my first bad experience at this location, will not be going back to it.

Very rude staff that completely ignore you or roll their eyes and make rude faces when you ask for anything extra. Seriously?! Does it come out of your paycheck?! I think not. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip! Here’s a tip… Hire a better staff! Nevertheless, the food from this store is horrible compared to other Café Rio’s.

I placed an order for catering. I’ve had not great experiences at other restaurants previously for catering, so I called first to remind them I was coming. They were ready when I got there with what I thought was my whole order. When I got to the activity, I realized I was short some food. I called and customer service talked to the manager, told me to go get the rest. We sent someone to go get it, it was busy but they still made time. The manager was great. Food was delicious and hot. Serving dishes etc were great.
