10 outta 10 Highly Recommend! Around 8:30pm, my wife & I were craving something unique in the area (we live on the other side of Houston) and we stumbled upon this hidden gem! Jule was very attentive and Santiago provided some great recommendations! I got the Cachapa with Picana. My first ever and definitely won’t be my last! Such a unique flavor, yet warms the heart. My wife got the arepa with picana with a side of fried pork belly. The arepa was a great balance of savory and tangy. And the fried pork belly was delightful! We also got a passion fruit smoothie that really hit the spot. Santiago surprised us with the best churros to top off the evening! Overall, great vibes, delicious food, and will definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu!

First time here and first time eating Venezuelan food… it was delicious! The customer service was great! Jule helped us get settled in and was very attentive as we were dining. Santiago made great food recommendations.
I had Arepas with Picaña and my husband had a Cachapa with Picaña plus a side of fried pork. On top of that, they gave us some delicious little churros since it was our first time here.

Nice place and very tasty food, this is my first visit and the waitress Jule super nice and friendly , she explained to us the variety of dishes. The cachapa with chicharron was delicious and the latte coffee will not disappoint you , I’ll definitely come back when I’m in this area.

If you’re a fan of Venezuelan food, you have to visit Mr. Cachapa in Houston! Their cachapas are made fresh to order. We had ours with picanha and fried pork. We also tried the sweet corn tequeños and they were delicious! Wishing you lots of success in this new city!

If you’re craving authentic Venezuelan flavors in Richmond, Mr. Cachapa is a new spot worth checking out! The place is spotless, cozy, and tastefully decorated — even the restrooms are clean and well maintained (which for me is always a big deal).
We tried a cachapa con queso entero, a patacón with carne mechada, and a couple of empanadas con queso, plus drinks: a chicha, a mango smoothie, and a Toddy. EVERYTHING was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
The cachapa was cheesy and satisfying, the shredded beef patacón (maduro) was perfectly crisp yet tender inside (and big enough to bring some home), and the cheese empanadas were just right. Drinks were delicious — the chicha with a sprinkle of cinnamon, was smooth and rich, the mango smoothie fresh and bright (ordered without sugar), and the Toddy a sweet nostalgic treat.
Our server Katherine was the cherry on top! She has the kind of positive attitude and sweet personality that instantly makes your meal better. Quick, flexible, and attentive — she nailed it.
If I had to nitpick, the place could benefit from a stronger extraction system — you can smell the fried food a bit too much inside. But honestly, the food and service make it worth it.
It’s not the cheapest spot for Venezuelan popular food, but in my opinion it’s money well spent for the quality and experience. I really hope they keep up these high standards, because in a competitive business like this, they’re already off to an A+ start.
