Had a terrible experience before at Dickies in a different state, but thought to try again here.. another disappointment and the last time I’ll try. Staff was very nice, but the meat was dry. Fried okra was the best thing on the plate

Passing through and didn’t want to wander too far from the hotel so I ordered some good ol’ Dickey’s. As soon as I pulled in to pick up my order, I knew I’d ****’d up. 6:30 on a Friday night and not a soul in sight. Walked in on a sticky floor as the polite woman behind the counter was preparing my plate. If you like jerky, this is the place for you. I can only imagine how many times the ribs/brisket had been reheated. Two ribs and 3 pieces of brisket, lukewarm beans and mac/cheese, and a stale roll for $19 + tip.
RIP Dickey’s.

Employees were friendly and welcoming. Food was not good. Fries limp. Bbq beans watery, bbq had great taste but was warm at best. The biscuit? Roll? Was completely hard. Did enjoy the crushed ice and different bbq sauces. Environment… lighting was dark. Like bar room dark. And the table I used to looked clean but was sticky. Again great employees. Everything else not what I expected. Would not return.

Had pulled pork, chicken, ribs, and wings. Sides of fried okra and slaw.
Meats were juicy and tender. Chicken wings were some of the best I have had locally here in Knoxville. Sides were plentiful and tasty. Causes were great, tried the house, sweet, spicy, and Carolina.
Nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly. They got our drinks and had us sit down, food came out quickly. Prices were good. We will be back.

Half our order was wrong. We didn’t get the sides or sauces we paid for, and all three plates had only one slice of brisket. I would never have paid extra for brisket if I knew it would be that small. One meat was supposed to be regular sausage but was jalapeño instead, which doesn’t work for our kids—now they have no protein. We spent half a paycheck on this meal and are extremely disappointed. We won’t be back.

This place is a great place to eat. They have some of the best BBQ pulled pork I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing. It feels like you are in a mountain log cabin. The staff is friendly. There is also all you can eat soft serve vanilla ice cream for customers. If you live in the area or are traveling through, it is definitely worth a visit.

Ordered online. No plastic fork or napkins. Meat was terrible, sides were small. Will not eat there again

Went this past week for the first time. It was dead but to be expected with take out only orders due to Covid-19 situation. Came here on a recommendation. I was told this a good place. The food was okay. Didn’t taste fresh. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s not that busy and they’re not turning over the food in a timely manner. I will wait for it to get busier and try it again to see how it is under different circumstances.

I got the brisket plate, hubby got the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and brisket and our kids got the boneless wings and chicken plate. Our sides included Mac and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. Brisket was okay a little dry, Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box nothing special about it. Coleslaw was okay. I like that it was chopped up but to much mayo and not enough vinager. Baked beans were great. We absolutely loved the bbq sauces. They guy who served us was very nice and friendly. Over all it was okay nothing stood out as being OMG I must eat here again.

Awesome F L A V O R !
First impression walking in- no one yells loud, fake welcomes when entering. It’s quiet with light background music and you can relax when here and have normal conversations. No rush or pressure when you’re ordering (a big deal for me). More so than other restaurants, they rely on food quality, not gimmicks, as the draw.
The staff is subtle, absolutely helpful and friendly and they keep the dining area stocked and clean.
The food is phenomenal! With my first bite the explosion of flavor was incredible. As I made my way around the plate I completely enjoyed the experience. The pulled pork is (just-right) soft, melts in your mouth and only makes you sad when you realize you’re nearly finished. Topped it off with a slice of homemade pecan pie.
If you like BBQ and haven’t yet tried Dickey’s, give it a go. I left completely satisfied and think you will too.
