Reviews
If you’re lucky enough, you’ll be graciously served by Mr. Nader.
As funny as it might sound, we originally tried to have brunch at Slappy Cakes, located in the same plaza. But we had the “good luck” of receiving slightly condescending treatment from the person assigning tables, and the wait time was 20 minutes. That gave us the chance to stroll around the plaza, and that’s when we discovered Java Jazz.
With the video and photos, you’ll get a sense of the pleasant atmosphere and the presentation of the dishes. We enjoyed the Uncle Mike’s Moko Loco and the Hawaiian Omelette. Both dishes were delicious, and the prices weren’t as steep as the rest of Hawaii.
They have live music in the evenings, so we’ll definitely be coming back to enjoy this place again.
The best part of all was the truly special service we received.
Mahalo, Nader.
Update:
We couldn’t wrap up this review without mentioning the nighttime vibe at Java Jazz.
We went back two days after our first visit for breakfast, this time in the evening and it was fantastic! The live music and Luhana’s exceptional service made it clear: this was hands down the best spot we visited during our week in Maui. Honestly, it even topped the pricey luau we attended.
So, mahalo Nader one more time, and a big mahalo to Luhana!
Food is delicious- service is top notch, ambience is simply amazing- and Farzad ( the owner) is your new best friend! Will return and enjoy this establishment for the years to come!
But the nachos we had were tasty.
The service wasn’t the best, maybe the server was having an off day. So I will give him the benefit of the doubt. But we won’t be coming back.
The breakfasts are incredible, especially the Loco Moco with gravy and a perfectly cooked beef patty, savory and satisfying. And of course, the coffee is fantastic – the reason you have to visit this spot.
It’s one of those places you just want to support in every way possible. An unforgettable gem that captures the spirit of Maui. Highly recommend!
