LOVED THIS PLACE! My mom and I were traveling from out of town for a surgery i needed in Post Falls and this place was 3mins from our air bnb.. to me, the pictures didn’t do it justice as it was much cuter in person.. the food was AMAZING (we split an omelet and the sourdough french toast) and our server Diana was amazing as well- excellent service and went above and beyond! Wish we had a place like this in Boise! Try this place, you’ll love it! Also, the mini zucchini bread that came with the omelet was adorable!

I really enjoyed the breakfast here. They had plenty of traditional favorites but also had a new spin on some other things. Like for example, the Bagel Florentine is a toasted everything bagel topped with two poached eggs with spinach and a parmesean cream sauce. I never saw that on a menu before, and it was awesome. My friend had eggs Benedict with jalapeños and cheese. The chicken fried steak, biscuits, and gravy were all excellent as well. Their homestyle potatoes were perfect. Each piece was like having a seperate smooth, creamy, bake potatoe bite with a little crispy skin in your mouth. YUM!!!
Our waitress Donna was absolutely wonderful, and being busy and slammed did not slow her down one bit. Her attentiveness for drink refills etc was perfect. Thank you for a fun breakfast with our friends and family, and bottomless coffee, Michael D’s. ❤️ ☕️
Side note get to this place early it fills up fast.

Very welcoming, warm, cozy restaurant. The music playing was a great volume and very relaxing. I love the rustic feel with the forest photos on the walls. Love the location.
The service was great. Food came out quickly and fresh.
Restrooms are clean and well stocked.
The only thing that kept me from giving a full 5 stars is I was disappointed in the French toast. I was very excited since that is my FAVORITE thing to order for breakfast. This set was very dry and flavorless. Not hardly battered at all. I felt like I was eating thick, crumbly bread. No amount of syrup was sufficient
But my husband’s scrambler and biscuits and gravy were absolutely delightful!

First time here, and I’ll definitely be coming back. I visited Michael D’s on a recommendation, and wow—my expectations were completely blown away. I ordered the Reuben with fries, and the food was absolutely delicious. But honestly, what made the experience truly unforgettable was Diane, my server.
I came in about 30 minutes before closing, fully expecting to be rushed or brushed off. Instead, I was greeted warmly and seated immediately. I asked for a to-go box and my check right after ordering, not wanting to be “that guy” so close to closing—but Diane smiled and told me not to worry, to take my time and enjoy the meal. She made me feel genuinely welcome and treated me like family.
You can tell Diane is the heart and soul of this place—her kindness, respect, and energy made all the difference. She turned what could’ve been just a good meal into a great experience.
Huge thanks to Diane and the whole Michael D’s team. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Terrific mom & pop diner. The food is wonderful, staff is great, location is good.
They have amazing corned beef… Not the canned stuff you’d get at other diners. This is the shredded beef. This is yummy.
Update 7/25: Great food continues years later. Keep it up.

Michael D’s Eatery in Coeur d’Alene is a gem. We knew the food would be great the moment we realized how tough it was to find a parking spot — a sure sign of a popular place. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff was warm and attentive, and the restaurant itself was spotless. A standout detail was the zucchini bread: instead of just a small slice, they served a whole mini loaf, and it was absolutely delicious. We’re already looking forward to going back. Highly recommend!

One of the best breakfast I ever had, and the best toast I ever had (really thick cut slices of bread). The corned beef hash was homemade and not from a can. Eggs cooked perfectly. The breakfast potatoes were delicious (especially with a side of hollandaise sauce). The zucchini bread was amazing! Located not far from the high way. The service is friendly and the food comes out hot and fast. Definitely worth the stop, amazing breakfast!

Delicious! The Lake City salad was incredible, amazing delicate sweet tangy maple vinegarette, perfect paring of ingredients! The tri-tip Philly had lots of meat and cheese and the reuban just incredible! The special salad also amazing, can’t say enough good about their dishes! They don’t over-try like many places that, I my opinion, ruin classic style dishes with extra over the top ingredients that simply don’t match the rest. Well done!
