Pio’s Restaurant is a family owned and operated business since 1954. We are famous for our pizza, St Louis style with a blend of 5 cheeses cooked in a stone oven. We have a large menu to please every palate. Several of our menu items are made from family recipes, which includes salad dressings, soups, sauces, pizza dough, breading on our fried chicken, and much more. If you are looking for steak, we hand cut our Ribeyes and Filet mignon. The Prime rib is slow roasted served with au jus. Also we have a large seafood selection, vegetarian , and several Gluten free options. Don’t forgot to save room for homemade pies.
Old-school eatery serving basic Italian fare since 1958 in a wood-paneled space with a bar.

The people here were nice, but I wish that the food represented the price point. Two people at my table had the eggplant parm. This restaurant also allows you to get the eggplant parm as a side for most dishes. You would assume it would be a classic dish that was really good, but I was disappointed. The eggplants were either not picked at the proper time or were not processed correctly, as they were bitter. The coating also was pretty subpar and falling off.
It was edible and sort of enjoyable, and I did eat it all. I just wouldn’t expect those qualities of a dish at such a nice restaurant. For a plate of that price I would hope for either quality or quantity, and it didn’t wow me with either.
I will say that the baked potatoes were perfect and their home whipped chive sour cream was delicious. Also, the dessert case was pretty good! My table was celebrating a birthday, and we got 4 dessert slices. The carrot cake, classic cheese cake, and the pineapple sour cream cake were great. I would recommend anyone to get the pineapple sour cream cake. I’ve never had anything like it before, and it was amazing. The bourbon pecan cake was good, but it was so boozey that the aftertaste burned. Typically that means it wasn’t cooked correctly. It was really good, but I don’t want to feel like I just took a shot after taking a bite of pie.
I also wouldn’t go here on a first date. It’s not anyone’s fault but the way the restaurant is set up my table was able to hear every other conversation around us. It was very distracting. I’m not factoring that in to my score. It’s just another thing.

Had a great dinner as usual with a relative I haven’t seen in a while. Our waitress Allie was wonderful and attentive to our needs despite the fact we were there long after completing our meal. Thank you Allie. I hope you wait on use when we return. Your awesome.

I ate there last night. Despite the two negative reviews of the chicken alfredo I ordered it because it looked good from the pictures I saw on the negative reviews. And guess what?! “What?”, You guessed it! The chicken Alfredo is friggen phenomenal. I 100% recommend it. I also had the fried liver tenders as an appetizer. Delicious. Their salad was okay. House dressing okay. Garlic cheese bread delicious! Their pizza?! Top notch my guy! I think it was called Ernie’s special, weekend at Ernie’s, or Ernest goes to Pio’s, “You know what I mean Vern?”. Any ways the pizza had pepperoni, sausage, bacon and onion. Really good. Ambiance is great. Feels like the walls were talking give the history of the building. It feels like you could get whacked at any moment and the Feds are listening. Overall great dinner! I give it a 4.98. No rookie scores.

We were celebrating my mother’s 79th birthday. She originally wanted to come here because they serve grouper, which we found out they no longer serve grouper. I ordered the veal parmesan over a bed of spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce was good. The veal parmeson was uninspiring Flavorless the breading seemed as it was just resting on the veal.My wife ordered the chicken parmesan Same result. My mother ordered the seafood pasta, which she took three bites and decided not to eat anymore. The only thing I enjoyed about this restaurant was the Caesar salad. I ordered a old-fashioned, which came to me in a snifter glass. ??? Full of ice ,one cherry, no slice of orange. It seemed like it was hastily put together. The worst old old fashion i ever had. The restaurant is very outdated. We sat below a vent that looked like it had mold or rust on it.I didn’t even want to finish my meal. The restaurant is old and smelt, like an old house.

I took my lovely wife here last night and it is our new favorite place to eat or just go to get away from everything else because this place is literally a Haven for good food, friendly atmosphere and the best service you’re ever going to receive in this area of Missouri or possibly the entire of America The food was delicious. The drinks were absolutely amazing. We both had a crisp ice water and a very strong Long Island iced tea. The service was great. We received them promptly as well as toasted ravioli for an appetizer which you have to have when you’re in the St. Louis Ish area. The salads were ginormous. The waitress was attentive, but not up in our business but frankly, we were having such a good time she could’ve gotten all up in our business. She could’ve been part of our business. It could’ve been a business deal. We were so happy with everything and then here comes the meal, which we didn’t wait for at all. It was like they were watching us through a secret hole in the wall, and when I took the last bite of my appetizer, our dinner showed up Which were too ginormous toddler sized pork chops, and this is the part that blew me away. I secretly love, applesauce with pork chops somehow they hacked into my social media and cross-referenced anything to do with pork chops and saw that I loved applesauce, and without a word or a mention, puts it on the table in front of me like they’ve known me my entire life my wife got something I don’t even remember what she got but what I do remember is it also came with a side of eggplant Parmesan it was the furthest and most crisp eggplant. Parm I’ve ever had usually it looks taste like a spicy diaper, but this was not a spicy diaper. This was a delicious presentation of garden meets Italiano. The atmosphere was fantastic. We received 72 crackers and butter when we first got there and my wife says is there gonna be bread and I’m like is this not enough? We have crackers from all over the world every nation represented in a cracker bowl and you want bread and again like reading our thoughts, the lady comes out of nowhere with a truthful bread in addition to crackers. Can you believe this crackers and bread And butter? It’s been 18 hours since I took my last bite and it’s all I can think about my wife bags and Wayne’s for my attention but all I can think of is Pio’s

Every time I come in for lunch I’m greeted in a friendly way. I’m given a glass of water, told the special of the day, given time to look over menu and make my choices. I’ve yet to have a bad meal regardless of what I choose. My latest visit, May 4th, was the special of the day which was a salmon patty that was delicious!! As always, my waitress, Jessie, gave me ample time to enjoy my salad before bringing out the main course. Then I am always given plenty of time to eat before my bill is brought out. My latest visit was enjoyable in every way possible.

Was it busy you ask? Nope…waited for over an hour for food. I asked for noodles to be lightly tossed with olive oil, S&P, simple right? Nope…who puts 1/2 cup of OLD tasting oil in a serving? They do…who obviously microwaves their chicken for chicken Alfredo? They do! Who offers stuffed mushrooms that show up as burnt hush puppies? They do! Who doesn’t season their steak? Take a guess. The only one who appreciated their food was served pizza, guess can’t go wrong there? Our grandson was crawling around as toddlers do and left with ruined blackened pants to the knees. Has been years since we’ve been and definitely will not return. Server was nice.

First time at Pio’s and I have to say the atmosphere was dated but comfortable. The place has an old feel to it. That isn’t a bad thing! It’s dark but welcoming.
The service was competent and very friendly. Our server was on point and didn’t make us feel like she wanted us out the door to flip the table. She explained the food preparation and ingredients to us with obvious pride in the product. Which believe me isn’t done much anymore.
As for the food! The pizza was simply amazing! Our server explained that the crust is made in house and fresh. The sauce was tart and a little sweet with a great seasoning base. She explained that the cheese was a five-cheese blend that is a guarded secret. It was all fantastic! Take my advice and give this little place a chance. You won’t be disappointed!

In town from Florida. Went on a Sunday at 5 pm. All out of prime rib. All out of crab legs. (What we went for). Because they are closed on mondays. But I got the Canneloni and I was not disappointed. It was phenominal! And they don’t skimp on the blue cheese dressing! It was amazing! Pizza is ALWAYS good. We always go here when we come back home to St. Charles!! (Forgot to take pictures)
