My husband and I don’t go out for breakfast much as I cook at home. But this day was an exception and was going to be different. I ordered coffee, pancakes, and soft scrambled eggs with bacon, he ordered bacon, eggs cooked medium, gravy and biscuits and bacon. My bacon was burned, my eggs were hard and mostly egg whites and not even warm, he had one egg cooked right and the other one was hard. His food was barely warm. Our waiter was a very kind and hard working young man so I told him about the bacon and he made sure that I received better bacon. But when the cashier asked us how our food was I told her that it was okay but she asked if anything was wrong, I told her and she told us that we should’ve told our waiter. In which I knew that, but I didn’t want to bother him anymore than I already had. She tells us that her kids like her cooking at home but she knew that you can’t please everybody so that’s why she works out front. That to me was a stab because we complained. I understand that you are not going to get food like you would cook at home but at least try and fix it the way that the customer asked it to be fixed.We are paying for that food. I could’ve retaliated but do to the fact that I’m a better person than that, I just agreed and moved on. We will not be returning and I know that it doesn’t matter if we don’t but it was a lesson well learned.

Sunday morning and I’ve found heaven, eight here in Greenville. Aunt Bea’s is perfect. Unpretentious, all home cooked, seat yourself, with strong coffee.
Google said “as busy as it get, but there was plenty of seats. The menu has all the mainstays, with some quirky stuff too. The dessert case is calling to me, at 10:09 am….. the crowd is a great mix, families, old folks, a young couple.
My advice, if you like fun, independent, genuine places, make sure to spend money here.

I had a doctor’s appointment at 2 so I thought I’d stop for a bite. I’m always looking for a good country cooking restaurant so I thought I’d give Aunt Bea’s a try. Their menu consist mostly of breakfast food but they had a board with lots of lunch and dinner items. You seat yourself and a waiter came over and asked me what I’d like to drink. I usually get tea but I can’t drink it without lemon. I asked him if they had lemons but they only have lemon packets so I just ordered water. The first item on the board was steak and gravy which is hard to find out. I asked the waiter if it was cubed steak and gravy and he said yes. I should have asked if it were homemade steak and gravy, it was not. It was like a frozen dinner steak and gravy with no taste. I got mash potatoes which again were instant potatoes. They were awful. The only thing I liked were the pinto beans. That was the only thing that tasted homemade but they were cold. The cornbread was dry and crumbly. They only gave me one napkin and a small pat of butter. They might have good breakfast but not country cooking.

Big parking lot, who almost was full, when I enter it was almost full, all local peoples come to take breakfast there. Prices is more then acceptable. Taste of food is that one we all looking for! Service is more than friendly and professional. Atmosphere like in move, you feel special you are the part of it. All recommendations from my heart! I hope the road will take me again here!

Mom and pop kind of place. All I can say is YUMMY! But beware, they close at 2 PM. We will go back for sure. We both ordered one of the specials. My hubby ordered baked chicken, dressing, cornbread salad, slaw. Mine was chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, cabbage, gravy, roll. Oh my, the cabbage is.on a level if it’s own!!! So good!

As another reviewer said, it is hit or miss. Traveling to the Andrew Johnson House and stopped in for breakfast. First off, the table needed to be wiped. I had to ask two servers and it took about 15 minutes for the table to be wiped. I could see the servers were busy. They took our order pretty quickly. I ordered eggs, bacon and biscuit; my companion ordered the BLT. My breakfast was lukewarm and there was no butter for the biscuit. My companion’s BLT had no mayo. Waited another 10 minutes and had to ask two servers for the butter and mayo. She enjoyed the BLT, my breakfast was meh. Might try again, not sure.

I went saturday morning, a little after 10, they were a little busy and I feel like their waiters aren’t really organized we had like three separate waiters asking us if they got our order, our food took around 40 minutes to come to us and it was a little cold. There are not free refills for the drinks here and they charge you for the whipped cream. However, I love their cheddar rounds.

We absolutely are so happy that we found this place! The food is homemade and delicious. My husbands all new favorite Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes, a roll and coleslaw. I had the Vegetable plate with stuffing and gravy (which was incredible), green beans, pinto beans and cornbread, and a 3 layer piece of Carrot Cake (the cake had to be from scratch it was amazing). I could not believe how reasonable the prices were – you can’t even get fast food for these prices. The restaurant was clean, the service was great, and everyone was very friendly. If you want a good home cooked meal that is at a phenomenal price – this is the place to go!
