Ordered karvepaku paneer, no flavor of karvepaku and the paneer pieces are not soft, lots of oil in the appetizer. Can do much much better, not recommended for karvepaku paneer. 3/5

Located along University Drive (US 380), this Indian restaurant offers a good menu packed with spicy delights that satisfy cravings for authentic Indian cuisine – be ready for some oily and at times salty food.

Conveniently situated in a plaza with ample parking, it’s an easy spot to visit whether you’re dining solo or with friends.

Having visited a couple of times, I’ve had the pleasure of sampling few dishes. The Nizami Handi stands out with its rich, aromatic flavors, while the Biryani is a okay and well-spiced. Noodles was decent – not bad nor really good. Accompanying the curries, you get generous servings of both rice and naan—the latter being soft and fresh.
On the flip side, the Spinach Dal I ordered once was a bit too salty for my taste, which is something to keep in mind.

Also, the dishes tend to lean on the spicier and oilier side, so if you prefer milder fare, you might want to specify that when ordering. Make sure you call and tell them though. They also have a live dosa counter which I presume opens in the evening.

Overall, this spot is a decent choice for those craving bold, spicy Indian flavors in a casual setting. I look forward to exploring more of their menu on future visits!

Tried the Gongura Chicken Biryani, but honestly, it just tasted like Gongura pickle rice with a ton of chilli flakes. Didn’t feel like biryani at all. We also ordered Chicken Majestic, but it wasn’t anything like the usual dish—felt more like chilli flakes chicken. Every item we ordered was overloaded with chilli flakes. I’ve never seen this much used in food before. It totally overpowered the actual taste. disappointing overall.

Food isn’t that great may be due to promotions going on. Ordered Dahi puri and it was tasteless! Samosa chat was okay. Both missed tamrind chuntney! Pav Bhaji was better comparatively.
Place is clean and has plenty of seating space.
Would give it another try once they are done with promotional offers.

Chowrastha – Indian Eatery was a bit chaotic when I visited on their second day after opening. It was evident that they were experiencing some growing pains as they adjusted to their new location and staff. However, I’ve enjoyed the food i ordered despite the delay.

The fact that they offered me a complimentary lassi for the delay shows that they are aware of their shortcomings and are taking steps to make up for them. This is a positive sign that they are committed to providing a good customer experience. I’m willing to give them another chance once they settle down. As a new establishment, it’s natural for them to experience some initial challenges, but with time, they are likely to improve and offer a more seamless experience.

Overall, Chowrastha – Indian Eatery has the potential to be a great restaurant once they work out their early kinks. If you’re a fan of Indian cuisine, it might be worth checking them out.

Placed order for samosa chat. It is not at all cooked. Like half cooked. I see in kitchen and front desk who makes food not wearing any hair nets/caps. I see multiple hygiene issues. I am not sure how city is approving permits for this place. It should be fined then only these people will understand.
