Went for lunch but I won’t be going back. I gave it 2 stars because the Hibachi show was nice although I have never seen food slathered in so much butter
From the very first bite, the quality stood out. The chicken was noticeably better flavored — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sauces were absolutely amazing, adding depth and balance without overpowering the dish. Every element felt thoughtfully prepared.
The sushi was truly astonishing, especially when compared to similar restaurants in the area. The freshness, presentation, and flavor combination were on another level. You can immediately tell that care goes into each roll.
One of the biggest surprises was the fried rice — 100% better than comparable places. It had excellent texture, rich flavor, and was clearly made fresh.
On top of the quality, the price is very reasonable, especially considering the overall experience and how it compares to similar restaurants.
After having traveled to Japan, I feel confident recommending Toro Japanese Grill. It delivers authentic flavor, great value, and an experience that truly stands out.
Highly recommended!
Came in at lunch on a Friday afternoon and it wasn’t that busy. Plenty of parking.
Order-to-Lunch Box: 20 Minutes, Salad came out in about 8 minutes.
They have a solid lunch menu and an even better happy hour menu. The rolls here are quite large – two were suitably filling for someone who came with me. I was pretty full after finishing the Tonkatsu box. The food was alright – rice and vegetables were a little oily, and the Tonkatsu was a bit small in pork but appropriately crispy. The salad had way too much dressing.
Service was nice, checked up on us and gave water refills often.
I like that they split the hibachi side so that not everyone has to leave smelling like smoke, but you still get a bit of it.

Overall, I’d come back for the lunch or happy hour special value.
The sushi is incredibly fresh, perfectly balanced, and crafted with care. The hibachi experience is just as impressive — entertaining, delicious, and full of personality. You can tell they use top-quality ingredients, and the portions are generous without compromising on presentation.
Service is fast, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. Whether you’re out for a date night, a family dinner, or a celebration with friends, Toro nails it every time.
If you love sushi or hibachi, you have to try Toro — it’s the perfect blend of flavor, fun, and hospitality. Easily a five-star experience from start to finish!
