I grew up in south Jersey, have had cheese steaks in some of the best spots in Philly and beyond. This place stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the all time greats.
All the ingredients taste fresh and delicious, hand made, home made. The fries were fresh and crispy. I inhaled my sandwich, it was SO SO GOOD.
And the owners are so warm and welcoming. I was a first timer, and they hosted me graciously, treating me to some treats on the house, allowing me to sit and relax and enjoy, no rush to pay and scarf down my meal like other take out spots. I felt taken care of and appreciated as a customer, unlike what you normally get at similar institutions.
Cannot wait for my next meal here
No bathrooms and limited seating.
Visited on a rainy day. The comfort food I was hoping for and the manager Edward made me feel at home. I ordered the GTFOH Chicken sandwich with Cajun fries and a side order of the jalapeño poppers. The chicken sandwich was delicious and came with a refreshing cilantro lime cabbage slaw. The poppers were cream cheese filled, well crisped, and slightly smokey. I prefer poppers without the smokey flavor, but they were still good. The French fries were a thin standard cut. Personally, I prefer a thicker and crunchier fry. I’ll try the waffles fries next time.
Also got a peanut butter cookie for the road!
Looking forward to trying the Philly steaks, burgers, homemade soups, and banana pudding on future visits!
