My husband and I had our wedding reception here and I wanted to write a review to share with others how incredible everything was. Throughout the process, I was never stressed, there were no issues or drama at all during the entire event, and all of our guests had a great time. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing (and I would do it again because we had such a great time)!
We used The Barn and the attached covered patio, it was absolutely perfect! Everything on the catering menu is delicious, we got the taco dinner and added the King Ranch Dip and Loaded Tots (crowd favorite). All of our guests told us the food was amazing, and it was. The atmosphere was so great, the bar staff working with us were amazing. I have too many good things to say about the event. They were even able to refer a DJ to us and she was the absolute best.
Last of all, Andi (who is the manager/coordinator at The Frio) was so amazing. She spent so much time with my family at various points up until our event answering questions and going over details with us. She was such a pleasure to work with and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us.
If you are looking for a place to have an event, any kind of event, please do not miss out on this place!!

Found this place by a Google search for burgers and playground… while there is no official playground they have a large outdoor play yard for kids of all ages and sizes . They have small beach balls and a giant connect 4 game . We went with 2 young kids and they had a blast. The food was delicious and the service was even more than we expected. Above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even with 2 little kids in tow. I ordered the Luckenbach Chicken Sandwich and my nephew got the Frio burger . If you’re in the area it’s worth a stop.

Long time Frio fan! We even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2024. I recently went to dinner here with my husband and was sad to see the menu re-vamp and that the beef tip quesadillas were 86’d from the menu. We had the steak tacos instead, its an acceptable substitute, I guess. The CFS here has always been my favorite though, very very good and worth the price. What wasnt worth the price though was the banana pudding, it was my first time getting it, for $13 the flavor was amazing but the portion was wildly small. Also, the spoon provided makes it to where you cant get the crust out of the bottom.

Lucky enough to get to try their new menu items tonight. Everything was fantastic. The braised ribs were my favorite. Cadillac Rita was top notch. I can’t remember the name of the app I likes best but it was almost like a Philly cheesesteak egg roll. The deserts were amazing. The pecan pie! The banana bread pudding..omg!

Had a great lunch at The Frio Grill! Steve was our server and honestly made the whole experience—super attentive and on it from start to finish. Food came out fast and exactly how we ordered it. Burger was spot-on, chicken strips were crispy and delicious, and the Caesar salad and mac & cheese hit the spot. We had a couple of kiddos with us and the outdoor play area was a big win. It was a little early for a beer, but you can tell this place probably gets lively at night. Solid service, tasty menu, and good vibes all around.

Our school staff had a great Holiday Party at The Barn!!! The staff had every detail ready for our arrival! The uniqueness of The Barn’s venue and your wonderful staff’s Texas styled hospitality made our experience one to remember! We especially wish to thank Ms. Andi for great communication skills and attention to detail in planning and setting up our event! Thank you for a great evening event!

This review is about the Frio. Not the outdoor experiences or the Barn as I have not experienced those. The Frio review:
Parking: rocky, no real pavement and not a lot of parking available
Handicap accessible: yes and no. Again, the parking lot is rocks. There is a ramp to enter the building but there are two types of tables. The front near the bar is 100% very tall high top tables the middle and back are standard.
Food: simply awful. The bourbon pecan chicken was hard to cut, the flavoring was overpowering in a bad way that lasts for hours. The chicken Fried Steak is huge but tastes odd and not great. You pay extra if you need more gravy and you will need more. The mac n cheese is bad as well.
Service: friendly but inattentive and they do not seem to know the menu or bar items very well. We were unable to get drink recommendations which is odd for a bar setting. I also witnessed people waiting to be seated for 4 minutes before they were acknowledged. It was not busy so there was no excuse.
Atmosphere: it needs something. It just felt like they were not sure what vibe they wanted
Restrooms: it was reported to me the the men’s room was so clean and thought out. The women’s needed some work. The doors really need to be cleaned off and does the sink area.
Kid friendly: I personally would not bother bringing them here but you can.
Overall: I cannot speak to the events but it is not worth going for the food. It is very expensive and just not worth your time.

Food is good, great atmosphere, was there early afternoon on a hot day, seating inside was cold. Great outdoors area, can’t wait to go back once the sun is down to enjoy the breeze and the trees.

Got beef tips and rice – beef was so fatty/gristly that I could not eat it, rice was soggy. Shrimp tacos were unbelievably salty and also inedible. Pecan crusted chicken had an extremely sweet gravy that was nasty. My son said the red fish was mehhh. Pretzel with cheese dip was decent. Our order was $134 for 4 people and honestly food from any fast food place would’ve tasted better. Definitely would not eat here again!
