The first Macado’s restaurant was opened in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It soon became popular for its eclectic ambiance of cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decor, as well as its wide array of hearty yet modestly-priced sandwiches, subs, and entrees. Popular with the college crowd, the restaurant opened additional locations near Virginia Tech, Radford University, and Roanoke College. Locations were added at the rate of one or two per year, including those in neighboring West Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee. The food and drinks were ample. Chicken strips were fresh, hot and delicious. I ordered the Stogie and the turkey and the bacon were so fresh and delicious.
Wonderful experience and great choice me and my mate made to eat here. For me, this place does not disappoint.

Very very dissatisfied. With this place was first time here and Service was horrible waitress sat us down waited 35 minutes before we got our food and she looks at us and says oh I’m sorry. I forgot to put your mozzarella sticks in after you’ve been sitting here she hasn’t checked on us didn’t do. Nothing went to ask for the manager and the only thing he says I’m gonna take a few things off if it makes it any better no that’s not how you get your business back up and running definitely would not recommend that this place at all. The food was ice cold when it showed up and a chicken was definitely still pink in the middle, which is unsanitary and unhealthy. My mac & cheese cheeseburger was even done correctly. The salad looks yellow. I just do not think you should be spending your money at this place.

The food is really good. There’s a lot of options so the only real problem is decision analysis paralysis. It’s all great though you cant lose. Service was fantastic. I think the atmosphere is weird though. It’s like a pub but it doesn’t know what theme it wants to be. It’s Irish, Chicago, beetles, simpsons, English, country, all at the same time. Feels weird to sit around but the outside seeting is great.

Everytime I go or I order pick up my food is absolutely out of this world amazing with flavor and it’s so beautiful on the plate or tray!!! Always hot and fresh and every sandwhich is amazing and the sweet potato fries and crinkles are so succulent! I dipped my sweet potato fries in syrup and honey butter at home and it was 10/10 perfect. I will always eat here and the staff are amazing thank y’all ❤️ I live nearby so I love ordering late after work and picking up a good dinner for the night!

Our waitress Elizabeth was sweet, friendly I guess I should have just said awesome. We got there after lunch because they were cleaning up so it was a little in disarray but that did not affect the food nor the service and I must say the food was banging but I can’t figure out how they got my family’s secret Macaroni Salad recipe that is like handed down 4 generations, I mean it was dead on except we had to put a shake or two of salt then it was super dead on. This was our first time at this Macado’s and we will definitely go back.

Went at 3pm on a Monday. Service was basic to not good. Waitress was a little rude and did not come to the table often. Took around 20 minutes to get food. That said food was amazing. I got the big Daddy, juicy cooked to perfection! Cole slaw was mid but not terrible. Wife got fries instead of chips and they were the good kind of crispy. I would go back another time but probably not on a Monday

Great service! The food was very good, jalapenos were fresh and hot. The fried chicken was well made and not soggy with the tomato and jalapenos. The drys could use some seasoning but were got and good with the ketchup. The soda and water we ordered came in large cups so you get a great volume that you pay for.

Food was bland. Service was terribly mediocre. Atmosphere was only bright side. This place should honestly go out of business. Their food was simple, yet it took over an hour to get our food(we were a party of 11, so this might not apply to most). I asked for a refill and a side of mayonnaise. They came 15 mins later. She took the mayo with her and returned with it 10 minutes later. Don’t come here. Friend got sick from milkshake.

They very under staffed considering THE conference is known a year in advance. They were more interested in the birthday party that was booked Just in our group alone was 11 people Macadoo’s lost $ 200 to $225 just in our group Poor management…Hardee’s made out.cha ching!
