If an establishment decides to raise their prices, that’s fine, but you MUST change your menus! When we pointed out that the check was incorrect, we were told the prices increased. When we pointed out that the menu had incorrect prices, we were told, “Yeah, sorry.” This isn’t acceptable. If you increase prices—you print new menus. It’s simple.
We had 45 guests, yet we were charged for 51. On top of that, they were completely unprepared for the weather. There wasn’t enough heating under the tents, and despite bringing this to their attention multiple times throughout the event, we were ignored.
The owner, in particular, was extremely rude and confrontational during every interaction. When I told her that guests were cold and some were leaving because the food was taking so long, she blamed it on people “not being in their seats.” Of course they weren’t. Everyone was huddled around the heaters trying to stay warm because the setup was inadequate. Again, embarrassing.
Both owners brushed us off and acted as if nothing could be done. We were embarrassed in front of our guests, and it was clear they didn’t care about the situation or about making things right. As a business owner myself, I know this is not how you treat customers or run a business.
We will not be returning, nor will we recommend Salvatore’s to anyone. Thank you for charging us for six extra people and ignoring us during an important event.
