After a dental cleaning we walked about a block and a half from the border crossing in Nogales to Taqueria Profis. Small place but big on taste. The meats seem to be prepared on the floor above the restaurant and they are brought down as more meat is needed. The area where the food is prepared is visisble to everyone and this place was slamming. We were lucky to find an empty table.
Two dishes. We got the tacos dorados. I figures we could start with that and see how big they actually were and if it was going to be enough. The service was fast and friendly. Before we knew it we had the food in front of us and were ready to eat.
Only three items here to choose form, tacos al vapor (haven’t had them yet), tacos dorados and chimichangas.
The tacos were an average size but they were packed. The shell held up well to the goodies inside of it and maintained their crunch all the way through. They were not greasy at all is what surprised me. All the flavors were well balanced where they complemented each other rather than overpower. They were not salty either. Perfect amount of salt. The veggies were fresh and the filling below them was a mixture of meat and potatoes. Never had them like that but I thought it was a hit. By how busy this place was everyone else seems to think the same thing.
Seeing that I was still hungry after three tacos I ordered me two chimichangas. Same deal except the veggies were on the outside. The meat and potatoes filling was on point and the crunch of the shell was prefect. I didn’t get to try the tacos al vapor because I was full at this point.
The only thing I wish the place had was more sauces to pour on the tacos. There was only one and it could melt a hole on your tongue it was so hot. I also ordered my tacos and chimis without mayo. If you look at other pictures you’ll see the white stuff on there isn’t sour cream…that’s mayo. Homeboy don’t play that. Give me sour cream or give me death! But hey…maybe you’ll like mayo on your tacos. Besides that these were some very satisfying tacos and chimis.
Best part of all the price was easy on the wallet. We both ate and drank coke light for about 10 bucks. And it close to the border where you can walk there safely. It’s best to walk since parking can be a problem there. Again, this place is always packed.
This place is definitely worth another visit. I look forward to trying their tacos al vapor next time.
Their soft red tacos are a must-try, filled with savory goodness that makes every bite feel like a fiesta! And don’t sleep on the crunchy tacos and chimichangas either—they’re equally amazing. With just one type of salsa, it’s all about simplicity, but trust me, it packs a flavorful punch!
The staff is super friendly and always ready to help you choose the best option. If you find yourself in the area, definitely swing by this taco stand. You’ll leave saying, “I’m nacho average taco lover!” Five stars for sure! ✨
Service was quick and everyone was very kind and provided excellent hospitality.
I highly recommend this place.
On my next visit all taken a picture
Overall it’s a very good restaurant to visit
