The food here is pretty good. Some is much better than others. They do steaks and the usual side, seafood is usually done good also. There are some exceptions. I’ve been here 4 or 5 times and have been pleased with the food. I was here last night with friends. They liked their food, but i was disappointed. I had the seafood alfredo which included the Alfredo in the middle of the plate surrounded by blue crab meat, 2 steamed shrimp, a sizable portion of imitation crab meat and about 8 small to medium size scallops. Also included 2 sides, baked potatoe and onion rings (I know, no veggies).
I’ll start with the good stuff. They serve bread rolls as an appetizer and their home made cornbread. One of the thou g htful thing they do is to serve the bread above the single serving butter which softens the butter just right!!! The cornbread is wonderful!!! The service is pretty good and is very responsive to the needs of the diners. The ambiance is a nice wooden style decor that is generally open including tables and booths.
Now for the comments on my dinner. Of the 4 or 5 times I’ve been here, this was my least favorite. Not all of my food was as warm as I would have liked. The Alfredo was in a clump in the midfle of the plate surronded by the meats. The steamed shrimp was not warm enough. But there were only two, so I didn’t comment to our server. The crab meat was warm but could have been warmer but didn’thave much crab flavor/ taste. The scallops not as soft as expected and lacked flavor as well. This was especially disappointing as I am a scallop fan and one of the main reasons this dish was ordered. The imitation crab meat was good and quite warm, as expected!! The baked potatoes and onion rings were served on separate side plates. The potatoes was a little on the small side but still a good portion and it was also good. The onion rings were a lower level frozen rings, they were just ok. However they were served just a bit above room temp and after 2 were eaten I requested our server to heat them up for us which she did very quickly to a good temperature.
This is the first time we ate here in the middle of the week. That may have had an influence on the food prep and there were plenty of other other diners there for dinner. I have enjoyed our other visits here so I will consider this a one-off event here. My dinner companions liked their food as well. This place is above average for restaurants but it is not presented as a high quality experience. They also have a nice active bar area that we did not try. I suggest you give this place a try!!!

This is a local staple! Very good food and well priced. There are daily and seasonal specials, as well as seasonal outdoor seating. Seafood is always fresh and local when available. The oysters in winter months are big and sweet!

A little late but I visited here for Valentine’s Day and considering how busy it was, the service was pretty good. Granted we had a reservation so we got seated right away but our server was prompt and we did not have to wait too long in between orders.
We opted for the buffet and given how delicious everything sounded, I felt like it under delivered for the cost. However, the fried shrimp, oysters on the half shell and the smith island cake were the best things! The Cole slaw was also good too! Reminded me of the old CFA style Cole slaw! The Mac and cheese was a bit dry, the crab cakes were underwhelming and the broccoli casserole was very bland.
The restaurant definitely stayed busy all night. Definitely seems like a good local spot.

Chesapeake Landing is a St. Michaels landmark, a true destination for anyone craving an authentic Maryland seafood experience. Located just outside of the downtown area, it’s a bit of a drive, but well worth the trip. We visited on a winter Friday specifically for their renowned weekly seafood buffet, the details of which are cleverly announced on their active social media channels. Our particular Friday feast included unlimited crab cakes, fried oysters, raw oysters, oyster casserole, oyster stew, fried shrimp, mac and cheese, coleslaw, oyster stuffing, and the pièce de résistance, Smith Island cake.
Let me just say, this place was packed. The restaurant and parking lot were overflowing, so reservations (which you must make by phone) are absolutely essential unless you’re prepared for a considerable wait. However, the constant flow of people is a testament to the food. The buffet was meticulously maintained, with dishes being restocked frequently, ensuring everything was hot and fresh.
The endless raw oysters were a highlight – plump, fresh, and delicious. The crab cakes, while not featuring lump crab meat (they leaned more towards backfin and claw), were still quite tasty. And the Smith Island cake? A rare and delightful treat, especially on a buffet! It was a perfect ending to the meal.
Overall, Chesapeake Landing delivers the quintessential Maryland seafood experience. It’s a bustling, lively atmosphere with a focus on fresh, classic dishes. If you’re looking for a true taste of Maryland seafood, Chesapeake Landing is a must-try.

We ordered two dozen steamed blue crabs for carry out – delicious! When we called to place the order, we were unsure how many to order (appetizer amount for a group of 8). The woman on the phone was helpful and patient, especially given we were placing a same day order on the Fourth of July. Great experience and highly recommend!

Great seafood restaurant, worth the trip! First time here. We didn’t notice the sign at the door on the way in and walked in to a seafood market and the employees just looked at us. We quickly realized the restaurant was to the left and were greeted by the hostess with two words “how many?”, We were seated inside the restaurant but when we asked our waitress about AYCE blue crabs we were told to walk outside to the deck area but private for those that prefer a romantic dark ambiance. The weather was perfect for the deck and we were happy with the change to that area. First impression was for outdoor seating it was clean and nice sturdy tables and chairs and the deck area waitress was the first person so far to greet us with a smile. Our waitress was nice and helpful and got our alcohol drinks and appetizer order right away. Drinks were great and made with fresh ingredients. The food was really great too. AYCE medium local crabs for $40 and the chicken and cornbread and hushpuppies and corn sides were great too, some of the best we have had at a restaurant on the Eastern Shore of DE and MD. We also had a seafood boil type meal with snow crab legs, mussels, clams and steamed shrimp and it was all excellent. Only minor complaints would be the time we waited for the waitress to get back to us for another round of drinks and crabs. The time from running out of drinks and crabs to the time it took to get more was about 15-20 minutes but our waitress and the food runner were the only ones tending to the customers even with 3 other employees in the deck area. It was a beautiful day, we had water to drink, and plenty of yummy food to snack on so it didn’t affect us too much. We will be back because our food and drinks were so great.

Great place for very good seafood. We had the all you could eat crabs on the deck and they were definitely worth the money. They came with fried chicken, hush puppies & an ear of corn. The crabs were nice fat ones. There were 5 of us and no one was disappointed. We also ate the stuffed mushroom caps, prime rib ( which was excellent), various deserts , and the coffee was very good. For me, a coffee snob, to say a resteraunt’s coffee was good means it was fresh brewed and very good.
Lots of parking with handicapped parking and a ramp my friend easily got her rolator walker up to be seated.
We are all seniors and were treated very well. That means something these days. Overall it was an excellent experience and this was my first time eating there. I will absolutely go again.

Service was great. We were seated quickly and waited on. The food was underwheling. There was not an ounce of spice to be found. My husband asked where the soy sauce was for his meal. He ate most of his food with the redeaming quality being the vegetables. My fried shrimp platter was abscent of seasoning as well. The one thing, our food was HOT. Straight from the pot HOT. Steam wafting up with every bite. It was a pleasant way to wrap up our day in St. Michaels after a few hrs of fishing with Capt. Herman of Screaming Eagles.

Visited this place for a lunch today after the lunch rush. We ordered jumbo crab cake special and we were very happy with the food. Fries came very hot, very fresh tasting crab cake without lots of fillers. I thought it was the best tasting broiled crab cake I ever tasted.

My Family had the AUCE crabs and I had the Prime Rib steak, baked potato along with the shrimp salad and crab dip. For the price and amount of crabs the AUCE was good while my prime rib steak was cooked just right with savory flavor to enjoy. All around I felt it was a great dining experience for the price for 2 adults and a kid. I would recommend to anyone in the area.
