Taco Via in Overland Park, Kansas, is an absolute gem and a true local legend! This place has been my family’s go-to spot for generations—it’s not just food, it’s pure nostalgia wrapped in delicious Mexican-American comfort. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with that familiar aroma of their signature smooth, mildly spicy taco sauce (the best I’ve ever had—seriously, they even sell bottles to go now!), and it transports you right back to childhood. The portions are massive and satisfying: the Sancho (that glorious smothered burrito loaded with meat, beans, onion sauce, and cheese) is a must, the Nachos (crispy tostada with melted cheese, sauce, and jalapeños if you’re feeling bold) are addictive, and the Taco Burger is a unique twist that’s oddly perfect. Everything tastes just like it did decades ago—consistent, flavorful, and unpretentious. No fancy “authentic” pretensions here; it’s classic Kansas City-style fast-casual Mexican that’s stood the test of time since the late ’60s.The staff is always friendly and efficient, the place is clean, and it’s the kind of spot where you see families, old friends reuniting, and even the occasional celeb sighting (word is locals like Jason Sudeikis and Paul Rudd pop in when they’re back in town). If you’re craving hearty, no-frills tacos, enchiladas, or that unbeatable cherry limeade, this is it. Taco Via isn’t just a meal—it’s a tradition. 5 stars, every time. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a taste of KC nostalgia!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant!!! The food is SO good and when I went tonight the service was impeccable. The woman who took our order was kind, engaging, and helpful. She walked one of our trays to the table as well. Good customer service is so rare these days, that it needs to acknowledged. I will be a life long customer!!!! The best!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Haven’t been to a taco via in 10+ years, , found this location in Kansas by chance and was very happy! Ordered my usual 2 nachos w peppers and a tostada, still taste the same, no sauce change which is great and now able to pick up a bottle of sauce to go. Service was great, checkout guy was sweet, place was clean and able to watch the Eagles LA NFL game on TV. Great experience!

I have been eating at Taco Via for over 20 years. I remember eating there when I was a kid. One of my favorite things to eat there is a sancho. It’s always been my favorite. The nacho is really good here too. This location serves cherry limeades which is really good. I highly recommend this location because the food is good and the service is good most of the time. If you have never been here you should definitely try it.

Taco Via had been a classic tradition in KC for along time. Unfortunately most of them are gone now. This location stands the test of time because it’s always been the best! Don’t forget to ask for extra onion sauce! So good! And the taco via sauce is the best!

I have tried to eat here twice, each time my order was incorrect. I asked for just a bean and cheese burrito, not hard to do. I have never received a bean and cheese burrito. They give me a burrito with slop meat in it, tons of fatty chunks in it. I don’t know that I want to try this again. All I wanted was a bean and cheese burrito. If you can’t do that right, what else is going wrong in this establishment?

If you’re dining in, it’s good!
However, if you’re ordering through Grubhub, DoorDash, UberEats, etc. — don’t waste your time or money! I ordered six items (three nachos, one bowl of nachos, and two tacos). Only the three nachos were delivered, and I was charged nearly $30 because they refused to refund me for the missing food.
To make matters worse, the nachos that did arrive were cold and soggy. For some reason, there were about six containers of taco sauce included — even though I didn’t order any. It’s really disappointing to spend that kind of money and receive such poor service and half of what I ordered. It wasn’t a complicated order at all — just six basic items with no substitutions or drinks.

I used to love this place as a kid. Since my taste buds have matured and I have been exposed to much better places, it has lost its appeal. The restaurant is clean, quick, and has friendly staff. It still attracts a lot of people as there was a line at130 on a Thursday afternoon. And I finally figured out what the secret ingredient is to give their taco meat that Taco Via flavor.

The food was fair, the establishment itself is disgusting, filthy and dirty. When you walk in order and pick up your food and go to sit down there is food all over the floor and on the benches where you sit and on the table. We cleaned it the best we could. Where you leave your trays is absolutely disgusting with food all
over. Its like a big ole pig pen and the slop is left everywhere. If you have to go to the bathroom wear a hazmat suit. So nasty. Overall this has to be one of the dirtiest places we have been to eat at. Definitely needs improvements or a new manager who cares and knows how to run a business. Doubt were going back.
