When my husband and I first started going to eat breakfast here, it was one of our favorite places. All of the food was exceptional, and the service unmatched. While the service remains outstanding, their food has gone slightly the opposite direction. It doesn’t seem as fresh or as flavorful. Their bacon used to be thick cut, the biscuits used to be fluffy, and everything was seasoned to perfection. Now their biscuits taste frozen, and the gravy is just plain mix. Unfortunately, I think the economy is making so many of our favorite places have to cut corners.

Great service, great prices, cozy diner atmosphere. Food was fantastic. We both had chicken fried steak, eggs, and hash browns. One of the best cfs I’ve ever had. And the biscuit! I don’t usually love biscuits but this one almost made me wish I had just ordered sausage and biscuits.

This place was quite comfy. Food was great and hefty sized portion. You most definitely are gonna have to come on an empty stomach or get ready to get a to go bag for the leftovers… I most definitely will be eating here again…

This restaurant is a must-stop for the Fort Worth area. They have a big menu and the service was extremely well. Our waitress sat next to us at the table and gave recommendations of kids meal options for our daughter and was always attentive and polite. Their pricing for the food you get is exceptional with big portions for not alot of money. The chicken fried steak is huge! The atmosphere is of a classic country diner. We will definitely be going back!

Authentic old style café. Not too friendly. Very dirty restrooms. Persistent waitress. Asking certain amount of tips with no shame. Food is average. Plastic outdated dishes. Too dark inside with no privacy between tables. Yesterday was OK. Today is average. They don’t think about tomorrow. Plenty of parking spaces. Even for semi trucks.

We were in the area for a referee meeting at Chisholm Trail High School. We found this place randomly and man was it a pleasant surprise. It is an excellent home cooking place.

My son-in-law and I stopped here after a hike, so we were absolutely famished and ready to throw down. We love popping into these down-home style diners, especially when they get the atmosphere and the food just right. Blue Mound Cafe did not disappoint.
We walked in right before 11:00 AM and decided to stick with the breakfast menu. Here’s the breakdown of the feast:
The Meathead Omelette: I ordered this, and it lived up to the name—it was packed with every bit of meat you could want.
Biscuits and Gravy: These were the “chef’s kiss” of my meal. Perfectly fluffy and savory.
Country Chicken & Eggs: My SIL went big with the country chicken, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and a pancake. He made a valiant effort to finish it all but fell just short on the pancake.
The Pancake: I stepped in to help him out with the pancake, and I’m glad I did. It was exactly what I imagined—light, fluffy, and great.
He had zero complaints about anything he ate, and I left completely satisfied. The service was also on point, keeping everything moving smoothly while we refueled.
If you’re looking for a spot that gets the diner experience right, this is it. Blue Mound Cafe, you rock!

We had breakfast this morning at Blue Mound Cafe and as soon as we walked in, the older lady said she did not care where we sit and she was also very very rude and asked that we sit on the right side, but when someone came in after us, they got to sit on whatever side they wanted to. She needs to check her attitude and talk to her customers much better! Again, she was extremely rude to us as soon as we walked in the door and we didn’t appreciate that. Don’t worry! We will NOT be coming back to that location as long as she is there. Also, my husband asked for extra gravy and they smothered his meal with gravy and there was not any flavoring at all, no pepper, nothing! I ordered the breakfast enchiladas and they were cold. Thankfully, our waitress was decently nice but was ticked off when we moved seats due to people smacking and sniffing behind us. I tipped the waitress which was more than 15% of the total and she acted like it wasn’t good enough. Like I said, we will NEVER come back! Don’t be surprised if I report y’all to the better business bureau!
