Michelangelo’s is great any time of day, any day of the week!
A summer Saturday morning for an iced coffee during the farmers market, or a cold winter evening for specialty latte and a good book; it’s comfortable, cozy, welcoming, and delicious. There is always a fun drink to try.

Best local spot for coffee. Can be difficult to get a seat, but still worth a visit regardless.

Great little coffee spot! Delicious coffee, friendly service, and honest staff. I even lost my card in the lobby, and when I went back and they had saved it for me. Truly appreciate that kind of care!

This café was just okay—nothing particularly memorable. Despite the artwork on the walls, the place felt a bit dank and lacking energy. On the plus side, there’s plenty of seating in both the front and back, so it might work well for students or folks looking to camp out for a while.

Service was meh. I ordered a $9 coffee (and even tipped $2), but the woman behind the counter just set it down without saying a word. I only realized it was ready because I saw it sitting there a few minutes later.

There aren’t a lot of café options in the area, so it fills a gap—but personally, I prefer the Starbucks around the corner.

Michalangelo’s is one of my favorite coffee shops because of the decor and their black forest cherry frappuccino. Im usually more of a cortado guy though and that isn’t too bad. The chai and matcha are weak though and there are definitely places to get better espresso.
Don’t quote me on this but I think they have both a medium and a dark espresso roast.
They are often very busy and sometimes it shows, last time I went the person at the register forgot to put my order in for the other baristas and I ended up waiting a while before realizing that no one would be making my coffee if I didn’t say anything. No problem though, i mentioned this and they immediately put my cup in queue.
Anyway, Michaelangelo’s is the coffee chop closest to my heart but i’m giving it a 4/5 stars

Had never been here before, but someone recommended it for a spot to hang out, and it is the most comforting place downtown. I got a matcha latte and muffin for $10, both were great. Person who took my order was nice and the drink came in four minutes, I’ll be back for the “toasted marshmallow hot chocolate”

Yesterday, I was helping a houseless neighbor by the name of Scotty. It was snowing real hard and I offered to buy him a coffee and some food. So I did, I waited until he got his sandwich then he asked me for money for the bus, so I went across the street to get $20 as I left him to eat his sandwich. When I come back, he told me he got kicked out and couldn’t eat there anymore.

This really upset me because I would’ve expected better from a Madison local business. Hope thy don’t continue to perpetuate this disgusting behavior. Do better.

Staff was really kind, food and beverages were absolutely amazing, and the interior was absolutely gorgeous.
I highly recommend the smoothies, especially the banana mango with orange juice.
Overall, this place is cozy, welcoming, and will be my go to forever.
