They were replacing a very good establishment.
And they’ve done an excellent job.
The sandwich was big.
There was a LOT of meat.
A large serving of potato salad as the side.
The meat is delicious, and the potato salad is fantastic, although it has a slightly different flavor than I’m used to.
And that’s fine.
The worst thing I can say is that the sweet tea tasted like it was a powdered mix.
I am not saying it is.
I don’t know.
But when the sweet tea is the worst part of your dining experience, you’re still having one heck of a good dining experience.
I would highly recommend this place. If you’re passing by, pull in. If you like good barbecue, make a point of going there. I think you’ll enjoy it.
I ordered a beef brisket sandwich, with fries as one side and BBQ beans as the second side. Paid about $20 total.
After finishing my meal, I walked out completely satisfied. The beef brisket was awesome – I’m a big meat lover, and after a long drive this was exactly the right call.
One thing I really liked: in the standard order they don’t dump sauces on your food by default. That’s brilliant. They’ve got a separate sauce station, so you can pick and mix whatever you like. Big thumbs up for that!
The BBQ beans had this sweet twist to them – not at all what I expected, but really interesting and tasty. Fries were standard, nothing fancy, but the portion size was very solid.
The interior is super cool – love the style of this place. Horns on the wall, little animal figures, even a bear – all those details make the vibe fun and inviting. The place felt clean and pleasant, no weird smells or anything off-putting. Just a nice spot to sit down and enjoy good food.
Only thing I regret – I didn’t have any cash on me. I would’ve gladly left some extra for the crew, because they deserve it. At checkout there wasn’t even a single word or hint about tips, which for some people is a huge plus. Everyone’s situation is different, and I respect that.
Overall: 5/5. Great food, great vibe. Highly recommend!
I’ve been stopping at this place for years — long before Covid — whenever I roll through town next to the Love’s truck stop. Let me tell you, it blows fast food at the truck stop out of the water every single time. This is REAL barbecue, done right.
The new remodel is fantastic — the building is bigger, more spacious, and feels brand new inside. They didn’t just rebuild; they upgraded. Now there’s plenty of room, new amenities, and even a line of merchandise so you can take a little piece of PCB BBQ with you on the road. On top of that, they now serve cold beer on tap and in cans, which makes the experience even better after a long haul.
The food? Absolutely top-notch. The pulled pork is smoky and tender, brisket is melt-in-your-mouth, and the ribs fall right off the bone. Their nachos are a meal in themselves, piled high with queso, pork, jalapeños, olives, sour cream, and sauce — Texas-sized and Texas-flavored. Even the sides hit hard: the mac n cheese is rich and creamy, the beans pack smoky flavor, and the slaw and tater salad are fresh and classic.
And it’s not just for the humans — they even sell smoked dog bones for your four-legged copilot. My Aussie loves them, and it’s a great touch that shows they really think about everyone who rolls through.
If you’re tired of the same old fast food options at Love’s, do yourself a favor and walk over here instead. This place has been consistently excellent for years, and now with the remodel and alcohol, it’s better than ever. As a Texan who knows good BBQ, this place gets my stamp of approval every single time.
$4 Dog Bones , $3 cans of beer…
It’s off off I-57 and Exit 183 so it’s pretty easy to get to. The Customer Service was on point and extremely friendly.
The atmosphere was quiet and calm and very clean. It was cold out, so we were inside, but the outside was tempting and inviting.
My food was nice and fresh and oh so delicious! The fried okra was good and I appreciate the fact that she (I hate that I forgot her name) asked how I wanted them fried.
I highly recommend this spot for some good old BBQ!
I have kept meaning to stop by this place when I drive past on the interstate and finally at a local person’s recommendation I did. their old place burned down and it’s brand new now with smoker around back.
They were out of a few things so I couldn’t taste everything. But I got the three up sampler of my choice of brisket, pulled pork and barbecue chicken.
The brisket was very thin and dry. The pulled pork was perfect and tender whole the barbecue chicken I felt just came off the grill as it was super hot and not quite perfectly cooked (properly cooked yes, just not as tender as i like) as I like mine super pull apart tender. All very flavorful, and even more So once I started tasting their house sauces.
At first I thought the brisket and pulled pork was extremely small portion as well as potato salad.
the side of potato salad that was uniquely wonderfully tasted and the potato had good texture.
Pick 3 meats was 15 (tax included!!), potato salad was 4 for a cash price of 19 or a credit card price of 20.
I was completely satisfied with this meal
The chicken was a 1/2 a chicken and I gave up trying to use the plastic knife and fork and just ate it with my hands. So definitely finger licking good. My only complaint besides disliking plastic is I Needed three napkins due to how thin they were
In the 30 minutes I was there A Steady stream of truckers picked up meals and picked up meat by the pound
