The ‘specials’ seemed not very special to me or way too expensive (probably those are for sharing) so I opted for a sushi and a starter.
They both turned out very very basic and at a small portion. I finished the meal almost hungry, which is quite underwhelming for 400 pesos before tip.
Fried tofu was just that. Fried soft tofu. Soy sauce on the side. Tiny amount of tofu, even tinier amount of red onion (which was actually good). Expected more from one of the more expensive starters.
The California roll had too little asparagus, too little cheese, too little flavor. The vegan ‘salmon’ did not resemble salmon in any way but look. It was barely even felt.
Hard to say, but the complementary appetizer, sautéed nopales, had more flavor than the actual dishes…
The decor is very nice and the ambience/service is fancy indeed. Loved the tree with Sakura. They even bring you a wet towel (although completely cold in my case for some reason…). I appreciate the vegan menu, but the food is just not enough.
I would give 10 stars if I could. Full vegan menu. The most amazing vegan meal – and it was gluten free too!! As soon as we arrived they asked had anyone any allergies. We were seated at the sushi bar. The 3 chefs behind the bar were amazing to watch. They offered us vegan sashimi tuna – delicious. They a vegan shrimp fried rice. Beautiful! We ordered a few vegan gf dishes for me and my husband had home made gyozas and normal prawn maki roll. Cocktails were so tasty. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend. Sarag ourr waitress and David. And the 3 chefs behind sushi bar. All amazing
Update – So good we came back on our last day for lunch
We had the Spicy Tuna Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Yakimeshi Shirmp and the Maya Roll from the vegan menu. (We were veeery hungry and it was our first porper meal of the day at 5.30pm)
Our favorite was definitely the Maya Roll!!
The egg fried rice really hit the spot
