Having a decades long connection to restaurants (FOH & BOH), I was impressed with every step of the dining process. It became abundantly clear, training is an important aspect of the restaurant’s mission.
We were greeted warmly upon entering, seated and told Vera would be our server. Vera arrived soon thereafter, introduced herself and took our Rewards number, before heading off to order our cocktails.
Mark, one of the managers, stopped by to thank us for being a member of their Rewards program. It is rare to see “table touching” by managers these days. I appreciated this seemingly innocuous gesture.
The restaurant was well staffed and servers moved around the dining room efficiently.
We ordered the grouper special and fish and chips. Both were prepared perfectly. Vera came back after the food was delivered to check if everything was to our liking. For me, this is an oft neglected step in service, yet every step was executed effortlessly.
This was a great dining experience, and we will return again soon.
I started with the Bang Bang Shrimp—crispy, flavorful, and the perfect kick to start the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes with a side of mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and every bite was heavenly. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the portions were just right. I paired it all with a Lemon Drop Martini and followed it up with a Blackberry Lemon Drop—both cocktails were smooth, refreshing, and crafted to perfection.
The standout of the night was my server, Meredith M. She was warm, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. She truly elevated the entire experience and made my solo dining feel special.
If you’re in Williamsburg and craving a great dinner with even better service, make a stop at Bonefish Grill—you won’t be disappointed!
