May we take a moment to introduce you to the unique and evolving taste of Thai cuisine. Virtually unknown outside of Thailand until the middle of the Twentieth century, Thai food is now famous Internationally and rightly so. This is partly due to the influence of many styles of cooking which Thailand has adopted and made uniquely its own. Traditional Thai cookery, reflecting a Buddhist culture, consisted of shredded meats and sea foods, laced with herbs and spices and was stewed, baked or grilled. This was later augmented by Chinese methods of frying, stir-frying and deep-frying.

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, clean, and very welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. The customer service was excellent the staff were friendly, attentive, and very detailed when explaining the menu and helping us choose.
We were also pleasantly surprised when they gave us two free mocktails on the house as part of a promotion, which was such a lovely touch and made us feel really valued as customers.
This was actually my third time coming here, and it never disappoints. I’ll definitely be returning again and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Thai food and great service. You won’t be disappointed!
We had the mixed platter starter which I thought was the highlight. Beautifully marinated Thai skewers, spring rolls, dumplings etc.
For the mains we had the crispy duck with pancakes. I really enjoyed this. The sauce is very much needed as the duck does run a little dry.
We also had the steak Thai style (can’t remember the dish name). This was also very tasty with onions and peppers.
Solid spot. Thai isn’t usually my thing but I wouldn’t mind coming back. Price is a little high but it’s on par for this sort of cuisine.
Special mention to the manager, Akib, who runs the place brilliantly. He checked in personally to make sure our meal was perfect and created such a welcoming atmosphere. You can tell he takes real pride in both the food and the customer experience.
Highly recommend Thai Imperial if you want great food and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be coming back.
First of all, the atmosphere was stunning. Beautiful light fixtures, beautiful designs and striking decor.
Then, the service was absolutely wonderful, especially our waitress Afrida. She was quick, very kind and helpful when we ordered. Her hospitality was enough to make us come back in the future!
And last but not least, the FOOD!! It was so delicious and out of all the Thai food I have had, this was the best.
We will be coming back…
The staff were incredibly good and attentive, always there when we needed them without ever feeling intrusive. Their warmth and professionalism really made a difference. What truly impressed us was their willingness to cater to our preferences; we asked for more spice, and they absolutely nailed it, crafting dishes with just the right level of heat we craved.
Every dish we tried, for the most part, tasted incredibly authentic and deeply satisfying. The fish cakes were a definite highlight, perfectly textured and bursting with flavor. The Papaya salad was wonderfully fresh, vibrant, and had that perfect zesty kick, while the sea bass was cooked to absolute perfection – flaky, tender, and incredibly tasty. The presentation a work of art. While the duck we ordered was a touch on the dry side, it was a minor blip in an otherwise outstanding meal. The mango sticky rice is an absolute must-have – a sweet, creamy, and perfectly ripe ending to a wonderful dinner.
The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean and boasts truly beautiful decor. For those curious about authenticity, it’s reassuring to know that the chefs are indeed Thai.
If you find yourself in East London and are yearning for genuinely delicious, Thai Imperial is definitely worth a visit. You’ll leave feeling wonderfully satisfied!
The interior was just as impressive — beautifully designed with attention to detail, from the statues to the blossoming tree that added a serene touch to the ambiance. The service was excellent too, friendly and attentive. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!
