Cheese biscuits- yummy.
Nachos – very different than Calmex nachos.
Onion rings – it was ok.
Devil eggs – good but on the sweet side.
Chilli – not bad. On the salty side.
BBQ Brisket – was ok. Too dried We asked for super moist but got some super fatty pieces instead.
Spare Ribs – really good flavor but on the dried side and not as tender.
BBQ chicken- really good flavor but on the dried side.
Sides were pretty good. Loved the collard greens.

Our visit to Jim ’N Nick’s was exceptional. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. We ordered a mix of meats, all perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and complemented by their delicious homemade barbecue sauce. The food was soooo good that we ate it before realizing we forgot to take pictures, managing only a photo of the leftovers! A special touch was when the chef came out personally to ask how we were doing, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended.

Update- Oct 2025. We offered the family brisket meal with Mac and cheese, collard greens, baked beans with 12 biscuits. 5 people ate and it was very good. We good regular sauce and the white sauce. Loved both!

I came across this place, when I did I told the friends that I met up with in Birmingham, they said that place had great food and u had to try it before you leave, they went 2 days prior. They were not lying!!
The cheesy biscuits w/the butter. YummEe.
I had myself a pulled pork with some lean brisket. So so good. Also, the bartender who was awesome told me that the salad dressings are all made in house, the honey mustard was fantastic!

We ordered out for my Mom’s 88th birthday mid February. Lots of food and we had to change the order a couple times before picking up. I wish I remembered the lady who took the order from my nephew and even went through each bag when I picked it up to make sure all was good. She even threw in an extra dessert for my Mom’s birthday. The food was delicious as always and the service was exceptional.

We were very pleased to find out that this establishment was still one with table service rather than the casual style most Jim N’ Nick’s have converted to now. Michelle, the manager, is an absolute sweetheart and made sure that we were taken care of. Everything was awesome food and service wise. The cheese biscuits were so delicious as usual. I ordered the catfish plate and my boyfriend ordered the spare ribs. Everything was served very quickly and came out piping hot. Our server was also very attentive. We got the chocolate pie for dessert and I have to say, I would come back just for that! Completed with a chilled fork. We were satisfied by everything and will definitely be returning.

I am beyond disappointed with both the service and the food. After having a procedure at UAB, I was given gift cards from the beautiful Ppl @ Forge Breast cancer survivor center to this location as a recovery meal. I finally made the trip—even though I live three hours away and am only in the area weekly for medical visits—and it was a complete waste of time. The food was cold, completely tasteless, and the portions were ridiculously small, barely enough for a child. This experience was unacceptable. I will never return to or recommend this location.

My husband and I took our two grandbabies under 3 out to eat dinner at the 280 location. Food was delicious and our server, Jen, was amazing with her menu knowledge and very accommodating with the babies! My favorite was the loaded baked potato with shredded pork! My husband had a turkey plate with onion rings. The onion rings were hot, fresh and crispy!

Wow! What service I experienced at the drive thru the young lady jan was so helpful and kind. If you stop by here you have got to try the baby back ribs. And those cheese biscuits are always amazing. Best Jim n nicks I’ve ever been too! Highly recommend!

What a great place for some homestyle serving bbq. You have got to try the ribs!! That manager Michelle is the bomb she’s so nice, she offered us a dessert for our first time being here! You have got to try those baby back ribs and the cheese biscuits are amazing!
