We get Chinese food here frequently. I always ask for the chicken wings to be fried lightly, because if not, they are waaay over cooked. Tonight I tried the salt & pepper chicken. It was almost completly inedible. The chicken was sliced so thin it was like chewing on jerky. The breading was light & flavorful and if the chicken would have been chunky & moist it would have been a different story. The gentleman who always checks me out is always so friendly. I will return, but will definitely avoid this meal.

Great food, fast, and quick. It was change of shift so we had her and she did awesome job.

Atmosphere was nice. Wait staff walked around a customer picking up a spilled glass/ice rather than helping and was arguing with other wait staff in front of customer. The tea was extremely bad and tasted heavily of bleach/cleaner from the cups. Water glass had dust balls on it. The ragoons were good, but the beef/chicken teriyaki tasted like the meat was starting to go. General tso had nice crispiness but was tossed in straight duck sauce without seasoning. Wouldnt eat there again

We love China Hill! We have been coming for years! It’s affordable and always enought leftovers. It’s exactly what we like. It’s a small town Chinese place and the owner’s care a lot.

Food was good but the sauce was a little too sweet to my liking. We ordered vegetarian items : green beans in schzewan sauce, vegetable delight and broccoli and bean curd. The food looked good, the hotel looks great from inside and service was also good. The quantity was large and we had plenty of leftovers. There is a huge parking lot and they also have a banquet hall. You pay the bill outside when you are done and the server gives you the bill.

Absolutely Delicious!
My husband and I tried the Four Happiness and Crab Rangoon at China Hill, and we were both really impressed. The portion sizes were perfect for two people — generous but not overwhelming. The food was fresh, flavorful, and far better than what we’ve had at other Chinese restaurants. We left completely satisfied and can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving truly delicious Chinese food in Ellsworth!

I ordered the shrimp chow mein for takeout and it was literally soup. The chow mein was slimy and insanely unappetizing. Did not eat any more of it.

Got take out here again. The last couple of times we have said its getting pretty bad but gave it another try. Not sure what is going on in the kitchen but the egg roll was uneatable. It was salty and chewy. One bite and the rest went in the trash. Ordered sweat and sour chicken. I got chicken fingers with some pink/red sauce with no fruit in it. I was neither sweet or sour. The rice was ok. Partner got chicken fingers and dumplings. Hardly eatable.
Won’t be going back. Not sure were to go now. Guess we will give Shimbashi another try.

An interesting dining experience to say the least, while my wife and I visited the Acadia National Park over the Memorial Day weekend in 2025.
I can’t complain since there was really no other Chinese food around in the general vicinity.
Being the only “Chinese” restaurant around, we accepted the challenge and gladly tried whatever they would offered.
The entire experience felt like “Back to the 70’s”. My wife had no idea what to order, since she was only a recent transplant from China some 9 years ago. I was looking for columns A, B or C, finally settled for Egg Foo Young with Egg Roll, and hope all would be well.
I ordered more than enough food (and to go hoping to save some money since Bay Harbor’s lobster rolls were quite expensive). We picked up (3) huge watermelons from nearby Walmart Super Center to bring back to NYC.
Food, below par, it is not close enough to what I was used to as 70’s Cantonese Chinese Food, but it would do under the circumstances.
Service, acceptable, I cannot complain, but my wife was not so adaptable. She was quite reasonable and understanding.
Ambience, I felt like I was transported back in time some 50 years ago, except not a single Chinese were in sight, except us. The entire experience was unreal.
Would I come back? Probably…..if I ever revisited Acadia National Park again, which maybe highly unlikely.
Would I recommend this restaurant? Sure, why not? It was the only game around that was closely resemble “Chinese Food”.
