I’ll keep this short and sweet.
I craved Oxtail pasta tonight. Wanted it BAD! Called here a couple times with no answer. Called one more time, got an answer, the girl was unprofessional and not knowledgeable of their menu.
Get here.Ordered. PAID $28.86 in total because there’s an random extra “OPF” fee of $0.78 for this DISAPPOINTMENT! Got to my car opened my box and this is what I get!

Oxtail are beef neckbones be honest with consumers. No Gravy or anything when it was clearly asked to be added heavy. I ate it but wasn’t satisfied I will not be eating here again. Very small amount of cabbage

We thoroughly enjoyed our first time here. For one, we don’t eat chicken, or beef, but eat Turkey. When we rode past this place and I googled the menu, I saw Turkey wings and had to turn around to try. When I tell you they were delicious. Rice and peas, cabbage, and mac-n-cheese was amazing as well. Service was great and to be able to sit and eat in a comfortable and nice setting was a pleasant surprise. Rare for Jamaican spots. We will return!!!

The Jamaican food choices are Great. Tge Dine In Atmosphere is great. Music is good. The food is prepared and cooked well. The proportions are comfortable with the prices. The available drinks selections US and Jamaican mixed. I’ll be going Back To Jamaica

Absolutely amazing experience at Jamaican Taste in Irondale! The food was incredible—authentic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. But what truly made our visit exceptional was our server Paris. Paris was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we sat down. She knew the menu well, gave great recommendations, and checked on us just the right amount. Her positive energy and professionalism really stood out. Because of Paris, this was more than just a meal—it was an experience. We will definitely be back and asking for her again!

They usually have great food! I normally get curry goat with a side of jerk wings for later. Today I got a jerk wing plate. I was very disappointed with the chicken and the portions of the side dishes. I’ve never known jerk chicken to look or taste this way. Presentation is horrible as well.

I just had to comment on the GREAT service I received here. I went in and was greeted as soon as I entered by a young girl. I believe she said her name was Courtney. She recommended certain items and my food was hot and fresh. She was by herself but managed to greet and help everyone that came in. I will be back based on the great service I got. The jerk chicken was good and the cabbage. I will say portion size seemed a little small for the prices.

Hubby and I find this restaurant to have the best authentic Jamaican food. The place is extremely clean, and the food? Wow! It’s the tastiest.
Hubby had jerk chicken wings. Look at those fresh vegetables! He had white rice with ox tail gravy.
I love the white meat jerk chicken dinner. I substitute the cabbage and plantains for extra rice and peas. Yum! We had strawberry lemonade.

We had an amazing experience on our first visit to Jamaican Taste, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Paris. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Paris was knowledgeable about the menu, checked on us at all the right times, and made our first experience truly enjoyable. Because of her great service, we’ll definitely be coming back. I don’t usually leave reviews, but Paris deserves one. She has such a natural, genuine way of connecting with people that immediately makes you feel comfortable. She remembered details, anticipated what we needed before we even asked, and treated us like we were regulars—even though it was our first visit. The food was great, but Paris’s warmth and attentiveness made the whole experience feel special. That kind of service sticks with you, and it’s the reason we’ll keep coming back to Jamaican Taste.
