The first Gulf Shores experience was in Creve Coeur and everything was delicious. The husband and I came to the Edwardsville location thinking the food would be delicious here too. We were so wrong. The food was very bland nothing like the Creve Coeur location. We didn’t finish our food it was a waste of $100, including a tip. The waitress was excellent though! I did post pictures of the food on my social media page, but I did recommend the Creve Coeur location.

This is a stern warning to anyone coming here: Don’t come during rush, and don’t bring friends or family that you need to impress. I came here back in April of 2025 and just realized I never left a review. We brought a party of 10 at 5pm on a Saturday. I called ahead to notify and asked them if they could take our party. Got an iffy response but she said to come on over. We got there and waited 15 minutes for her to come around to take drink orders. The rest of our party arrived at about 20min in. By 30 minutes we had drinks in hand but the other half of our party that had been there 10 min didn’t get to place any orders. By about 50 minutes she had come around to take another set of drink orders and food orders. It took almost 1 hour to get the food. By about 1 hr 20min we had gotten our 2nd round of drinks. And around 1hr 45 minutes we had gotten our food. Everyone asked for checks when the food arrived and some ordered drinks when the food came, but nobody got their drinks. The fish was all grossly overcooked and burnt. The waitress appeared to be the bartender. No idea where management was. The waitress looked incredibly overwhelmed and they seemed understaffed. I have lost my rights to pick the restaurant and nobody in that group will ever be returning to a Gulf shores. On top of the overcooked food, horrible service, and extreme wait time, our bills were crazy high. This place isn’t cheap.

This is a place we used to frequent often. The last few visits have just been OK for the price point I was expecting more with my meal service was decent always feels like the place is understaffed. I ordered the shoreline sampler and lobster Alfredo the sampler was decent got a few onion rings some shrimp a couple scallops small salad came with the pasta I’ll have to say the pasta wasn’t what I was expecting at all more cream and cheese than anything I found 2 chunks of lobster for 29 bucks I expected more for 78 bucks

Katie was our server on a Sunday afternoon. She was an awesome server. She was helpful when I was torn between menu items. She kept our drinks full and was super pleasant. The food was really good too! The red beans and rice, seafood lasagna, hush puppies were exceptional. The portions were just right. We will definitely tell our friends and return soon.

First time dining and I was well pleased. The Crab cakes were amazing, as well as the Lobster Bisque. The hostess was very inviting. Our server doubled as the Bartender, but he still did a decent job.
Wishing there was a location in Phoenix,AZ that would be great. All in all I will be back when I’m back in town.

I’ve eaten here several times, the most recent being today, and we’ve always enjoyed our meals. Today was first time doing carry out and the customer service and speed was great. Great atmosphere and drink specials, good service, but the food for me has always been good, but less than spectacular. For it being Edwardsville, it’s great to have a cajun food restaurant, but it pales in comparison to the Broadway Oyster Bar in downtown STL. My wife loves the cajun lobster bisque and the seafood ravioli which is loaded with shrimp and lobster and a rich buttery sauce. While I usually order the blackened mahi mahi fish tacos, the cuts of fish are always a little too large and, just a little too dry, and the cabbage and cheddar cheese just seems plain compared to the pico de gallo and blackened fish. Don’t get me wrong, I’d gladly eat them again, but I always think they could be better. If we aren’t driving to STL for Broadway Oyster Bar, we will gladly come back to gulf shores.

My family and I went last night to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. She really wanted to go here for her birthday dinner. Our server was good. I forget the young lady’s name. However, the wait for food and the final presentation was HORRIBLE! My father-in-law got the cod meal and like one of the other reviewers stated. You get more food at Culver’s for much less. His meal was the size of a toddlers. I had the shrimp and grits. It was HORRIBLE. I had to ask for my honey corn muffin that came with the meal. But was told they didn’t have any. One of our group members had their order taken by our server but was later told when all the other food came out that the cook never dropped hers. So she didn’t couldn’t get anything because they shut down the kitchen. Oh and the cook. We only saw one person. He did what he could. However, it wasn’t that busy on a Wednesday but everyone who came in after us seemed to get their food before ours. We were not a super large party – 8 adults and two toddlers. To the owner, Your food is too expensive to be this bad. I see why you’re only open limited hours. Just shut down and try again! If you’re reading this go somewhere else where you get more food for less money.

The food was very subpar and the service was terrible. Red Beans and rice were very soupy. Upon leaving, we received our desserts to go. My mother ordered bread pudding which as you see on the menu comes with a cream sauce and caramel. It came with no sauce. We asked about the sauce and the server advised we only put caramel or chocolate on it. This is not presented on the menu. The server not only didn’t give us any other options or ask what we would like but instead left and brought back chocolate. My mother doesn’t like chocolate. We showed the server the menu only for him to tell us there is no vanilla cream sauce we used ice cream, chocolate or caramel. We then asked to speak with a manager and instead of the manager coming to speak to us, he REFUSED and instead told the server just to give us ice cream and caramel. This was a horrible first time experience and I will not be back at all. Definitely not worth the prices!

The jambalaya was so very good with a bit of spicy kick. It was my first visit. My friend thought it a bit pricey..but we agreed we would go again and try other dishes. The fried flounder, with coleslaw and french fries was plenty with a cup of jambalaya. And we enjoyed the corn bread accompaniment. If you like #cajunfood and live in or near #edwardsville, stop by and be hungry.

Restaurant was empty, that should have been a sign on a Saturday at 6pm. The food was nothing to “slap my mama” for. I had the blackened tacos they were extremely bland. I added salt, the “punch daddy” seasoning, and cole slaw still nothing. The $6 Dollar Long Island ice tea special HAD ZERO alcohol in it, (in my opinion). This place was not for me. However, please feel free to have your own experiences. My friend had crab cakes she saids it was 3 out of 5. They call this red beans and rice it’s very liquidity never seen nor taste anything like it before, and never will.
