The entry experience was pleasant, with a warm welcome and a comfortable, nicely maintained ambiance. Parking is plentiful, which is always a relief on a busy weekend night. Once seated, we started with the Kerala Shrimp and Chicken 65. Both appetizers were cooked properly, but the Kerala Shrimp dish came with only four small pieces overshadowed by a large amount of onions and green peppers. The flavors of both starters were average and lacked any standout spice or depth. We specifically requested a spicy level, but everything arrived very mild. We also ordered chai, hoping it would complement the meal, but it didn’t meet the mark either—weak in flavor and not well-balanced.
For our main course, we chose the goat biryani, expecting it to be the highlight of the evening. Instead, it left us more disappointed than the starters. The dish resembled a basic vegetable pulao with green peppers, onions, and tomatoes mixed in, rather than an authentic biryani. The goat itself was tender and well-cooked, but the overall preparation and flavor profile felt far from traditional. The seasoning was extremely mild—something that may appeal to diners unfamiliar with Indian cuisine but not to those looking for genuine, rich biryani flavors.
After such an enjoyable day at the beach, we were hoping for a satisfying meal to close the night, but this visit didn’t deliver. Based on our experience, I’m not sure I would recommend this restaurant, especially to anyone seeking authentic Indian taste. It ended up being a very underwhelming dinner after an otherwise lovely day.
We had the chilli paneer, popadoms and chutney to start. Lamb Madras and butter chicken curry with a peshwari naan.
Would definitely recommend visiting if you like the indian cuisine or looking to try for the first time!
Service was fantastic, my waiter was kind, welcoming, and all of that. Great pace and attention while not being hovering.
However just about every dish I had lacked flavor. Butter chicken with barely any meat, chili paneer cubes dry and sad. Only good dish was Onion bhaaji.
Yesterday my daughter and I ordered the Chicken Masala and Lamb Madras with Garlic Naan from Gateway to India, and wow — everything was incredible. The flavors were rich, perfectly spiced, and the coconut milk made every bite of lamb and chicken melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I wanted to upload a photo, but honestly, the food was so good we couldn’t wait to dive in!
Kumar prepared our dishes, and the seasoning and balance of flavors were spot on. We enjoyed every single bite. The leftovers were so good that I went back tonight to get more paratha, roti, and chicken kebab. When I returned with my husband, Kumar even made him a mango drink that was absolutely delicious.
We are definitely coming back for more. Highly recommend!
No apology, no accountability — just attitude and denial. It’s not the end of the world to mess up an order, it happens. But refusing to admit it and making the customer feel like they’re lying is unacceptable.
Customer service here is clearly not a priority. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and go somewhere that at least respects you enough to admit when they’ve made an error.
Prices were about right – not a deal but not excessive.
The service was vary good and never had to wait long for anything.
This is my local go-to now for Indian cuisine.
