Iron Horse Bar and Grill was an absolute hit! We had the bison burger and a corn dog—both were seriously delicious. The bison burger was juicy and full of flavor, and the corn dog was crispy and nostalgic in the best way. The drinks were hands down some of the best we’ve had—creative, refreshing, and perfectly made. The vibe is laid-back and fun, with great service and a lively atmosphere. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!

This is a hidden gem that you need to seek out rather than the obvious Main Street location. Hidden down a side street, then taking a turn down an alley?., of sorts, brings you to a totally unremarkable metal building that might give you pause. Proceed with delight. Once inside the atmosphere is warm and western, the deck overlooking the river is sunny and has an open air continuation from the indoor dining. The huckleberry margaritas were refreshing and the food is home made. I suggest the brisket and the meatloaf.
We travel a lot and continuously search for these hidden gems, street vendors, Michelin and comforting diners. We struck gold in them thar hills of Gardiner.

Went there after a day of exploring the park. It is a good bar tavern atmosphere with cold drinks and hot food which were both very good. We were in early so they were not real busy.

Hidden gem! Driving over the bridge we saw people on an out door deck overlooking the river and we changed our dinner plans for Iron Horse. This was a fabulous decision as the food was good and service very fast. The outdoor deck overlooking the Yellowstone River is amazing! Very chill and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Favorite place to hang out in Gardiner. Went there 5 times during 8 day stay in Gardiner/Yellowstone. Great food and beer, great staff! Even gave us some Free Beer tokens!

Bison burger was really good. I found it much like a regular beef burger except a little leaner. The fries were good too. My wife had the sirloin steak. She enjoyed it but it was big for her. The restaurant has a great vibe. Service was good.

We had researched menus and picked some locations to eat but stumbled upon Iron Horse and threw all our plans out. We ate dinner there both night we were in town. The elk meatloaf is delicious, the garlic bread is really tasty, brisket sandwich was so tender and that bbq sauce is fantastic, also really enjoy the burger. I had the huckleberry iron horse shandy and it was so good! I will say on night 1 it was pink and a bit better than night 2’s but both still good. The staff is very friendly and our food came out so fast! Sitting still the river and having dinner was great. We also checked out the historic jail right next door, so fun!
One negative-lack of parking but we made it work.

Took a break from the yellowstone national park – sightseeing and shopping.
Nice comfortable place for beverage or food along the river.

We were enticed by the patio. We saw it from the bridge. Traveling with Fido, we tend to look for outdoor places. We didn’t have high expectations considering the tourism in the area.
We ordered the ribs/fries, BBQ brisket sandwich with coleslaw and garlic toast.
All the food was good. The ribs fell off the bone, the fries were very nice. The brisket sandwich bun was great. The brisket could have been better. I regret not asking for more BBQ sauce. I actually thought they put too much meat on it, but Fido loved the extra slices I had to remove the side of fries was generous, as was the order of garlic toast, but for some reason, the coleslaw was tiny. Fries are a premium though. The toast was awesome! I would have been happy just eating that to be honest! So buttery and perfectly toasted!
It’s a very casual place with a full bar. Order at the bar and food is delivered with a smile. Prices are a little high for the simplicity and small staff compared to other places, and the signs promoting “tipping shared by all staff” rubs me wrong…although I did leave a generous tip just because I do, but come on, there is no table service. I guess if it’s super busy on weekends, They have to hustle, but overall We had a nice time with good food.
The order line can get long, just timing. The bathroom line can be long too and can congest the entrance. Parking is insufficient unless I missed something. The place is huge and probably crazy fun after dark on weekends. Really glad we tried it!
