Acadia Restaurant – New York, NY | OpenTable
Reviews
However, service timing was an issue throughout the night. We waited over 30 minutes for our appetizer, and other tables that arrived after us were served first. I am not sure what happened in the kitchen that night, but something clearly caused the delay. After I asked the waiter to check, the food finally came. The mushroom cigar was delicious, but the halloumi was cold and felt like it had been sitting for a while.
The main course also took over 30 minutes after the appetizers. Again, I had to ask the waiter to check on it. I ordered the rigatoni, which was very simple and did not really stand out. My husband’s lamb was absolutely delicious. The desserts were great, and the restaurant kindly offered us an extra complimentary dessert to make up for the delays, which we really appreciated.
Service continued to be a bit slow. It took a while for the waiter to check on us when we wanted to order another drink. Also, the second floor was very cold, and I had to keep my coat on during dinner. It would also be nice if bread and olive oil were offered while guests wait for their food.
Pros: beautiful ambiance, delicious lamb and desserts, and a thoughtful gesture to make things right.
Cons: long wait times, inconsistent food temperature and quality, slow service, and uncomfortable temperature upstairs.
Overall, I would give it 4 stars. I truly hope this was just an off night because I would like to give the restaurant a second chance. With better timing and service, it could easily be an even better experience.
Service was attentive without being overwhelming
I love the open kitchen and the color palate made for a relaxing space to eat after having walked around all morning
Be sure to stop by for happy hour if ya can
Pictures of the gnocchi and orzo. Too busy enjoying the food to get pictures of the main course.
We started with a very welcoming host Ekin that was extremely friendly and helpful, we were treated with some shots at the end for being great guests Outstanding quality of food with Mediterranean twist in each meal. Definitely enjoyed lamb and artichokes. Highly recommended!
Chef Victor did an amazing job, and the Mediterranean experience here is an absolute must try.
The Cucumber Spritz is a standout and the Eggs Benedict made for a perfect morning brunch.
Manager Joao was equally awesome, checking in on us and making sure everything was just right.
We loved the experience at Acadia and highly recommend it for both the food and the people who make it special.
Acadia NYC made our wedding reception truly unforgettable. We planned our entire reception from Alabama, and everything still turned out exactly how I imagined — truly a dream come to life. They took care of every detail so we never had to worry about a thing.
The food was incredible, the atmosphere was beautiful, and every member of their team was so kind and welcoming. They also worked seamlessly with our other vendors, from our cake delivery to our florist, making the whole day flow perfectly.
Their event planner, Dunja, was an absolute joy to work with. She answered every question, made the long-distance planning process effortless, and ensured our vision came to life perfectly.
And as you can tell from the pictures, we all had an amazing time — smiles everywhere and memories we’ll cherish forever.
Our special day was flawless because of Acadia NYC. If you’re considering hosting an event here, do it — they will make your day magical.
Lance, who took care of our table, was incredibly attentive—he quickly anticipated our needs and made sure everything flowed smoothly throughout the meal. With the support of the rest of the team, he helped create a relaxed and memorable dining experience for us.
We were also warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived by the staff at the entrance. Although I don’t remember all of their names, their kindness and genuine smiles left a lasting impression.
It has been quite a long time since a Manhattan restaurant made us think, “We really want to come back,” and that made this experience even more special. The casual and comfortable atmosphere made it a perfect place to enjoy good food and have conversations.
More than the food or the ambiance, what stayed with us the most was the people—the service staff who truly shared the dining experience with us.
We look forward to seeing you again 🙂
For drinks, I had the Persian Negroni, which was fine but lacked some depth and layered flavor. My friend ordered the cucumber oregano cooler, and that one was excellent—bright, refreshing, and well-balanced.
We started with the olive tepanade pull-apart bread, which was soft, warm, and flavorful. The Mediterranean chopped salad was also very fresh and well put together.
For mains, the standout was the crispy roasted lamb. It was perfectly seasoned and fall-off-the-bone tender, served over what I believe was bulgur, with a thick, sweet, deeply spiced glaze made with walnuts and dates. Absolutely delicious. The pomegranate glazed salmon skewer was also very good. The salmon skin was perfectly crispy and seasoned well, though the “pomegranate glaze” was more decorative than flavorful. The rice it came with was excellent.
The biggest downside was that all of our dishes came out on the colder side, which took away from the experience. It’s the only thing I’d really note because the flavors themselves were spot-on.
We didn’t make it to dessert because we were genuinely full, but the dessert menu looked great—definitely something I’d try on another visit.
