I grew up with Mario thr baker in north miami. Always loved their food and their garlic rolls are sooo good!! Garlic sauce soaked in the bread and parmesan the bread so hot and fresh. I had the ravioli today and I had it baked. I really enjoyed it. The tiramisu dessert is the best I’ve ever had. Not dry very good! Wow. I accidentally found it while driving around and glad I did.

Recently came in today for lunch, and was not disappointed. I started off with some garlic knots that my wife and I shared, which were absolutely phenomenal. We then followed it up with a cheese pizza that was perfectly crisp and warm. Drinks and orders were taken quickly, and definitely will return.

A beautiful day so we sat outside on their covered patio! Lily was our amazing server! Lily remembered that I put ice in my white wine.. wow! She is charming and always smiling!
I ordered the large cheese pizza with sausage and pepperoni!
Absolutely delicious! It comes out piping hot! It’s Pizza Monday with a special on the large pizza!
I highly recommend!

9/13/25- Wow! Delicious food, great service, family friendly ambiance ! Easy to park! Large covered outdoor patio! An affordable family owned and operated Italian restaurant! What more can you ask for…
A warm friendly greeting from all of the staff! I chose to sit outside..it’s completely covered with ceiling fans!! The friendly staff are attentive and welcoming! Always 5 Star service!
The menu has a variety of homemade Italian cuisine. Today I chose pizza! The Delicious 12in extra cheese and sausage pizza! Perfectly cooked with a generous amount of cheese and tons of sausage! Wow! I loved every bite!
I also ordered a glass of Chardonnay! A wonderful accompaniment to my pizza!
Their dessert menu offers Italian Rainbow Cake which is very difficult to find at any Italian restaurant. I ordered it to go.. I was too full to eat it there.. I will say the second I walked in the door at home I had to take a bite of the cake with whipped cream and it was unbelievably delicious! A classic Italian dessert! Don’t leave without it! Trust me! I highly recommend this very affordable neighborhood Italian restaurant!

Absolutely delicious food, first class amazing service and family friendly ambiance! Wow my first experience at Mario the Baker and it was amazing! I was a small part of organizing a Surprise 80th Birthday celebration for 16 guests on the patio on Wednesday May 31st! Patty and Elana were amazing, attentive, professional, welcoming servers! Lily worked with Sharon and Barbara to reserve and arrange for early arrival for us to decorate! Thank you so much!
Patty and Elana were extremely patient with us! Thank you! The patio was perfect even when it was raining! It was extremely private and with the ceiling fans it was very comfortable!
Service with a smile! 16 guests and all our food came out piping hot and at the same time! On a busy Pasta Special night! They have a great kitchen crew! Wow! I ordered the spaghetti with sausage, garlic and oil! With lentil soup to start! The lentil soup was one of the best I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious! Sharon ordered 6 caprese for the table also fabulous! The tomatoes were so ripe and juicy!
My spaghetti/ sausages were perfect! I’m Italian so I can be very picky! Wow! I was blown away by all the food that came out! Lasagna, chicken parmigiana, spaghetti and meatballs etc! Pleasing 16 older people mostly New Yorkers is an incredible feat!
Everyone was complimenting the food and service! I honestly don’t know how Patty did it! She is a treasure! As is Elana! Thank you for your hard work on a busy night with a large group! Everything was perfect! I’m a new fan! I highly recommend! Please thank all involved!

What a huge disappointment.
My mom, sister, and I went out for dinner and decided to give Mario the Baker another try. Our first visit was decent, so we figured, why not? Big mistake.

From the start, things were off. We didn’t get the specials menu until we were already halfway through ordering—not a big deal, but definitely disorganized. Unfortunately, that was far from the worst part of the night.

The salad came out with cucumbers that tasted off—almost poisonous, like they’d been soaked in something chemical. My sister tried one bite and pushed the plate away. We told the waitress, who literally just shrugged and walked off. No apology, no concern, no follow-up. We waited for her to return to ask for more dressing and let her know again about the cucumbers—but she disappeared until the main food came out. Mind you, this was around 8:30 p.m., and the restaurant was nearly empty—maybe two other tables. There were two servers working. Where was ours?

When the food finally arrived, the presentation was sloppy and rushed. Honestly, I’ve never seen plates look that bad at a sit-down restaurant. My $18.99 meal looked like two side dishes thrown onto mismatched plates, one of which looked dirty. My mom ordered pasta with clam sauce, which had tiny, tasteless clams (definitely canned) and zero flavor. My dish was a chicken cutlet, and somehow they managed to ruin even that. The chicken tasted old—like it had been sitting around for days. I was starving and still only managed to eat a few bites of chicken and pasta. The cream sauce, which was supposed to be Alfredo, tasted like something out of a jar from the grocery store.

I asked the waitress if the chicken was old, but before I could finish my sentence, she turned and said she’d get the manager. The manager—an older woman—came over and told me the chicken is “pounded fresh every morning.” I know what old chicken tastes like, and that wasn’t fresh. She then said it might’ve been a “bad piece” of chicken—her words. If you suspect it’s a bad piece, why are you serving it at all? It had rubbery bits and was just disgusting.

I explained that I would’ve asked for something else if the waitress hadn’t been MIA, and all she did was argue. No apology, no accountability. We weren’t even asking for a discount—we just wanted them to know this was unacceptable. But clearly, they didn’t care.

Hoping dessert might redeem the meal, we ordered cappuccinos and dessert. My cappuccino was the only thing that was halfway decent. When dessert came, the table was still full of dirty plates. The server didn’t bother clearing anything—we had to hand her plates and even ended up placing some on the windowsill just to have room for dessert.

We will never return to this place. The food was awful, the service worse, and the manager made it clear that they don’t care about customer feedback. It’s a shame, because if someone in charge had shown even a little concern, maybe we’d give it another shot. But after this? Absolutely not.

My family owns a restaurant, so I know how the industry works—and this was unacceptable on every level. Honestly, if I weren’t in the business myself, I might’ve reported this place to the health department over how bad those cucumbers tasted. But instead, I’m sharing this experience to warn others. I’ll be posting in our local Facebook group too. All we packed to go with the garlic bread and they gave us a barbecue bag for it. What a joke.

Avoid this place at all costs. The food is terrible, the service is worse, and the management just doesn’t care.

I used to visit the location down in sunrise for almost 20 years but sadly it is no longer there. Whenever I’m in the area, this is the first place I visit. The garlic rolls are dream like and I could eat them everyday. The pizza is the best pizza in the great state of Florida. I’ve never tried anything other than the pizza and garlic because why mess with perfection?? Keep up the great work!

Mario the Baker has been a staple in my life for over 20 years. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid — and I actually almost died choking on a peppermint from the front desk in 2008. Ended up in the hospital. But that didn’t stop me from coming back. That’s how good this place is. The pizza is still tremendous, just like it’s always been. Big thanks to Mario and the crew — I’ll be back every time I’m in town

Mario the Baker is always consistently excellent. Unfortunately I didn’t take as many pictures as I should have. Literally everything on the menu is excellent. Classic American Italian eatery. It’s really too hard to recommend any specific item call Mommy cuz everything on the menu is so good. Highly Recommend! 9/10
