I came here for lunch and it wasn’t a bad choice. Located at Fair Oaks mall, this spot is a great stop for a bite as you shop. Our waiter, Abel, was so kind and absolutely amazing. Service was super quick, and great.
We ordered their spicy wontons, braised beef ribs, XLB, shredded beef noodles, and salt and pepper popcorn chicken. For food, I thought that it was all alright. I wish that the food had more depth to them—especially the spicy wontons and the beef noodles. However, I did enjoy their XLB and thought that the broth in the pork and shrimp XLB was delicious. The braised beef ribs were also a good portion and had a good marinade. Overall, not a bad option for some quick Taiwanese dim sum/food!

The Ugly Dumpling is right outside Fair Oaks Mall and is really a fantastic restaurant. It is a lot bigger than it looks and is connected to the mall as well. Orange chicken is excellent. Shrimp stir fried noodles were delicious and perfectly cooked. The soup dumplings were good although the top was a bit dried. Overall great food and a good atmosphere with plenty of seating, will visit again.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, however I felt like the soup dumplings could have had a little more flavor, but the vinegar, soy sauce and chili provided helped with adding it! Our waiter was super tentative and very nice. Wasn’t super busy either.

I had an excellent experience thanks to Junior and Sofía. Their customer service was outstanding from start to finish. They were both professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive to my needs. They took the time to listen, answered all my questions clearly, and made sure everything was handled smoothly. It’s rare to come across such a great team, and they truly made the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend—Junior and Sofía went above and beyond!

Visited Ugly Dumpling in Fair Oaks Mall this past weekend with my daughter and nieces. We arrived around 6pm on Sunday and were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is spacious and has a really nice interior.
We were a party of five and ordered a variety of dishes to share. Our favorite items were the string beans with garlic and the cucumber salad. The hot and sour soup was also a generous portion definitely big enough to share.
For our main dishes, we tried the chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, chicken soup dumplings, chicken kimchi dumplings, and the regular chicken dumplings. The chicken dumplings were the favorite, while the soup dumplings didn’t have as much soup as expected. Overall, the food was good, but nothing that stood out as exceptional. Dishes came out as they were prepared, which we appreciated.
Service was generally good, though our main server wasn’t very attentive, and we had to wait for water refills and check-ins. It was nice to try something new, but I’m not sure I’d rush back.

My friends and I decided to go here for the first time and we were not disappointed! The food was comforting and flavorful; we all were left satisfied! The pictures are the chicken dumplings and the chicken soup dumplings, however, their edamame and string beans genuinely impressed my friends and I. We definitely will come back to explore the other menu options. That said, what made our experience more memorable was the service. Our hostess (unfortunately I did not catch her name) was so kind and accommodating towards our group, and actively worked hard to have us seated. The server and bartender, Phillip and Connor, were friendly and helpful, especially being our first time dining here. Will definitely come back!

The two of us went to a grand opening of the restaurant today. It was very nice, the food, the service, the performance too. We ordered a classic Margarita, soup dumplings sample, fried chicken dumplings, braised short ribs and a lava cookie for dessert. All was very good. If I was nitpicking, I’d like the short ribs to be more cooked and soft. The food was also half price today! We will be back! Thank you!

Just came in here recently and had Jack + Connor taking care of me and they were amazing! They provided great service and were so funny, loved talking to them and having them serve me and my brother Matthew. The food is good but if there’s anything you order ORDER THE SOUP DUMPLINGS! I say this because these are some of the best I’ve had and I went for the Sampler, if you’re unsure which to order, ORDER THE SAMPLER, this gives you the ability to try all the types of dumpling they have and they’re all tasty and I manly loved the pork dumpling and the pork/truffle. I’m going to come back here and keep ordering these two and thank you to Jack and Connor for recommending this. Oh and the sampler reminds me of pretty patties from SpongeBob

We ordered a variety of dishes, shu mai, chicken wings, soup dumplings, and fried dumplings. The wings and dumplings were flavorful and well prepared. The shu mai filling was over worked, bland, and rubbery.
The server was very helpful initially and did a good job explaining the menu options, but largely disappeared after taking our order. One drink came from the bar but we had to ask for the other. Likewise, the first food item we ordered was delivered last, about 30 minutes later, and only after reminding the server twice that we hadn’t received it.
Overall, the food was good, drinks were tasty, and the experience was positive. We will eat at Ugly Dumplings again, but maybe at a different location to see if we get better service.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Ugly Dumplings! Junior and Connor were our servers, and they were absolutely wonderful, so attentive, friendly, and welcoming, which really made our visit special.
The food was scrumptious. We ordered the string beans with garlic, spicy chili wontons, Mongolian beef with rice, and Szechuan soup dumplings, and everything was delicious. The whole vibe of the restaurant was great, from the atmosphere to the service.
We would definitely be back and highly recommend this place!
