I visited Fujimura because I’m a foodie who enjoys filming and photographing restaurants to share with my audience. The exterior and interior design looked unique for a buffet place, so I politely asked the manager if it was okay to film around the restaurant. He clearly said yes.
After I started taking a few clips and photos for a thumbnail, a server approached me and questioned why I was taking “so many detailed photos.” I explained again that I create food-related content and even showed her my Xiaohongshu account. She then asked for my “main account” which already felt unnecessary and intrusive.
A bit later, while I was simply getting food, the manager came up again and suddenly told me to delete all photos of the environment and any decorations—even though he had just given me permission earlier. He claimed I could “only film the food,” which was very confusing and inconsistent. If the design and atmosphere are what make the place unique, why can’t customers simply document their dining experience?
Throughout the meal, my friend and I felt watched by staff, which made the dining experience stressful instead of enjoyable. After we left, my friend told me their staff thought I looked “too professional” and were afraid I came to steal their ideas. That assumption is not only unrealistic but also quite offensive to a regular paying customer.
The space itself is nicely designed, but the way customers are treated needs serious improvement. If Fujimura continues making guests feel scrutinized and unwelcome, they will lose potential customers – especially people who actually want to promote the restaurant.
They also have meat and broccoli that was my favorite!! Anyways check it out. Also the price is good. For two people who ate a lot of sushi it was $80.
