Because I know what to expect I’m never sad, the staff are always great. And treat the place like it’s a diamond. I have seen the hollandaise break, but it definitely doesn’t taste like it’s made from scratch. So however if you’ve ever worked the job it is not easy to keep hollandaise together, but it does have a deeper richer amazing flavor from scratch, so yeah.
Coffee is great, people are nice. I have not tried any other dishes here, don’t really plan to. LOL but it is a friendly and amazing place. Better than Sherry’s ever was, I don’t know about their pies… lol
I took my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter out for brunch on Sunday to celebrate his birthday. We arrived at Debby’s Diner just before 11:30 AM. It was busy, which we expected, but we stood waiting to be acknowledged for seating for nearly 10 minutes. Eventually, I approached the counter—baby in arms—and asked a waitress how long the wait might be. Her response was curt and unhelpful: “I have no idea, but we’re clearing tables now.”
We were seated a few minutes later, but that was the last interaction we had with the staff. No one came to take our order, offer water, or even acknowledge our presence. After waiting over 20 minutes—and watching guests who arrived after us being served—we decided to leave. No one said a word as we walked out. It was clear they didn’t care.
Thankfully, we ended up at Crackin’ and Stackin’, where the service was prompt, friendly, and far superior. If you’re looking for a welcoming brunch spot, I strongly recommend skipping Debby’s Diner.
The attempt to rename a classic omlet (the Denver) is ridiculous. Just call it a Denver omlet. All the omlets on the menu have dumb names in an attempt to be thematically clever, but I’m not a fan of that. If you are then you’ll love their menu names. To be fair the omlet was about as good as any I’ve had. It’s not rocket science, it’s just an omlet. I always get the Denver when I’m checking out a new place because it’s hard to screw up. And they did fine.
However… the hashbrowns were dripping oil with every bite. They tasted fine but super greasy. And my wife’s Chicken fried steak was tough and chewy.
Also, I feel it’s worth mentioning that the menu says “no substituions” and replacing the toast (which comes with the meal) with a biscuit is a dollars adder. I find that to be a weird policy, and it feels very unwelcoming to read that.
The atmosphere was good.. 50’s themed, mostly after-church brunch boomers. Background music was 50’s rock (Chuck Berry, Little Richard etc.) and the decor matched the music. A nice addition to sunday brunch diner.
Finally, the service was good. Attentive, and prompt and polite.
