I visited Paul today and was very dissapointed. The waiters seemed overwhelmed. And service was terrible. After sitting down no one greeted us, we sat ourselves down. We had to call the waiter to take our order. It took 10 minutes for me to get someones attention to ask for a simple ashtray, while 3 waiters were focused on cleaning one table… It was around noon so we ordered from the breakfast menu. Le Gourmand Formula, which is a set of 2 courses. Coffee, juice, croissant followed by scrambled eggs. It took a while for coffee and croissant to come, we were still in middle of that they immediately brought the scrambled eggs. Everything was cold, especially the eggs. During entire 45 minutes we were there, no one came to ask us if everything is ok or if we needed anything. It was kind of dissapointing because i used to really like the place. The only thing i can comment was good was the presentation.

Paul Café in Gemmayze is such a charming spot. The croissants are always fresh, the coffee is rich and smooth, and the staff make you feel genuinely welcome. Whether you’re meeting friends or just need a quiet moment, it’s the perfect place to unwind in the heart of Beirut.

Everything about this place is so good — the ambience, the food, and the service. The food portions are generous and satisfying. The tiramisu looks amazing, though the taste doesn’t quite match its appearance, but it’s still not bad overall

If you’re wandering through the charming streets of Gemmayzeh and craving a sweet pause, Paul is a cozy, reliable spot that blends French flair with a Beirut vibe. I stopped by for a quiet afternoon treat and tried their pain perdu, which came beautifully presented with a generous drizzle of caramel.
Texture-wise, it was soft and warm on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. Sweet, but not overly so. The portion was satisfying, perfect for sharing or indulging solo with a coffee. I would have loved a touch more richness in the custard soak — hence the 4/5 — but overall, a very solid dessert and a lovely experience.

Service was friendly and professional, and the ambiance had that classic Paul elegance. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s a nice little stop for a refined sugar fix.

Worth a visit if you’re in the area — especially if you like your French toast with a Parisian twist.

Great location but that can’t justify the quality versus price. I have tried several other restaurants of this chain, they sell you the fakeness for an average coffee and a condescending look if you haven’t given your car to the valet. Food is ok, service in this branch was bad

Located in the heart of Beirut, Paul is a beautiful place to have a cozy meal with a friend or partner. Prices are a little bit high and portions a little bit small. But this is reasonable due to the location and the excellent professionalism of the staff. The food is delicious and very well presented. You have to park a little bit far as the area is very busy there.
