I always get the chicken avocado melt and its never looked like this or tasted like that. Not to mention the meal and a small soda was $16. I won’t be visiting again sadly. There was also an eyelash on the bread. I just plucked it off but seriously be better! so embarrassing for a corporation
I don’t think any of the 16 year olds in there could smile if you paid them. The manager seemed stressed and aloof. The restroom was worse than a gas station.
Also. It’s Panera Bread.. how can they run out of bread!!!!!
I had less than ten minutes before starting work at the business directly across the parking lot, so I chose the drive-through for efficiency. Before ordering, I checked my app and saw that I had a BOGO promotion allowing me to purchase a second sandwich for five dollars. When I reached the speaker, the very first thing I said was that I had this BOGO deal and wanted to use it.
Instead of acknowledging the promotion, the employee ignored what I said and simply asked what I wanted to order. I ordered one breakfast sandwich and one lunch sandwich, which seemed reasonable given the promotion I had already mentioned. When I reached the window, I was told that my phone number “didn’t pull up anything,” despite it being the correct number connected to my app. I then showed the promotion directly on my phone.
Only after consulting with another employee did she return and tell me that the deal required two lunch sandwiches. By this point, nearly ten minutes had passed. What is most frustrating is that this requirement was never communicated when I initially mentioned the deal at the start of the order. To make matters worse, I was then told that I never mentioned the promotion at all — which is simply untrue.
As a manager at a retail store right across the parking lot, I can say with confidence that this interaction reflects poor training, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. The employee appeared rushed, dismissive, and uninformed, and made no effort to resolve the situation or take ownership of the mistake.
Because of this experience, I left without breakfast and had to return to work frustrated and disappointed. I’ll admit I didn’t stop to read every detail of the offer beforehand, but that does not excuse the fact that I clearly stated the promotion upfront and was mishandled at every step afterward.
This experience speaks volumes about the level of customer care being prioritized here — and unfortunately, it was not a positive one.
My ratings for food and atmosphere is based on my general experience at this location this past week.
I calmly stood outside the window waiting for my food while they were laughing and putting my order together. I’m 90% sure they did something to it because they kept looking at me and laughing, with the blonde manager in the black polo blocking the window. I felt SO UNSETTLED. I asked the manager as she handed me the bag if there was bread included because I was craving bread with my broccoli soup. She said yes, there is.
I drove away, only to realize they forgot to give me my Starry drink. I went back to the window and knocked, and the ladies were all laughing again. When I got my drink, I told them they were very unprofessional and that I’m 5 months pregnant. The lady replied with an attitude, saying she didn’t know what I was talking about, and slammed the window in my face.
When I got home, I found that the bread the manager said was included wasn’t there, and instead of broccoli soup, they gave me tomato soup. I repeated my order at least three times to them. I didn’t eat any of the food—it’s now in the trash. It was a waste of money and time. The experience I received here was by far the worst I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
We walked in and it was so very quiet and serene, almost like a library–except really no guests but us seemed to be around. We had the whole dining room of seats to choose from!
The bread bowls we ordered with soup were satisfying comfort food. If I had a wish, it would be that the side which comes with the bread bowl is not automatically another piece of bread. If I were alerted that there were another choice like chips or fruit, I most certainly would have chosen either of those rather than another hearty piece of bread aside from the sourdough my soup already came in (plus the sourdough lid cut from it, too).
I love to spread joy, mostly, with my reviews so I am a bit reluctant to admit… The employee that took our order did not seem very enthusiastic to have us in, overall. Perhaps it was because she was concentrating on entering my phone number correctly for the Sip Club. It took several times for me to say my number slowly, and, no big deal on that–we’re all human! Once it was all well and good I was hoping to see a little more friendly receptivity from the young woman helping us. I decided on a drink and we ordered our food quickly, then. We were glad to have our order placed and to choose a nice, well-lit booth in the dining room. The extra bread on our plates came as a total surprise bonus!
The soup and bread bowl tasted great! The extra bread did go to waste, though, and after leaving Panera I wished I had wrapped it up to give it to someone hungry and in need, instead–who coincidentally are often seen at the corner where the light is coming out of Cobblestone Village very near to this location. Next time I will keep this idea in consideration if there is no other choice of side for our future bread bowls.
Panera Bread seems like a great place to read or study on a Sunday around 5pm in late June according to this experience! We’ll be back!
