Plenty of parking.
Clean.
Atmosphere and decor are sports themed and showcase support of local youth teams.
Check both menus…the one above the order taker, and the one behind the order taker.
Fast ordering.
You can take a seat or hang out by the pickup window and wait for your order number to be called.
Food takes a bit to prep.
Came out hot and…didn’t taste very good: for example, curly fries were crumbs and burnt, the oozing grease tasted terrible. The cook kept wiping his nose with bare hands. Nice owners, beautiful decor, but won’t be coming back.

We ordered food to go and everything was prepared fresh and ready right on time. The overall taste was really enjoyable and felt satisfying. The falafel sandwich was tasty and served in a big pita, though the filling felt a little light. We tried a variety of sides including curly fries and sweet potato fries, both of which were cooked well and flavorful. The baklava truly stood out with its rich sweetness and warm cinnamon taste. The chili was aromatic and full of flavor, making it very comforting. Inside the place looks clean and roomy with a relaxed sports tavern kind of atmosphere. The prices felt reasonable for the portion sizes and overall quality, making it a place worth ordering from again.

Kosta’s Gyros is hands down the best spot in town for gyros. The meat is perfectly seasoned and tender, the pita is always fresh, and their sauce is absolutely unbeatable — easily the best local gyro sauce around. You can tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients.
On top of that, the service is fast and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The staff keeps things moving while still being friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is great too — relaxed, clean, and a perfect place to grab a quick lunch or hang out for a casual dinner.
If you’re craving a legit gyro, Kosta’s is the place to go.

Kostas never messes up your order. The food is pretty generic american food, its not particularly amazing but its not bad at all. If you want quick and easy dependable food- go here.

Gyros are delicious, meat & food portions are great. Prices are a bit high (but meat prices are high so I understand current prices). The gyros are delicious and you can get two gyros out of a single gyros if you order an extra pita. The feta cheese is delicious, but I wish it was sliced thinner (like a slice of bread) instead of cubes. Fries are good, and chicken souvlaki is good. Our daughters love the fries and cheese.

Revised review from 6 years ago still Great food. It has that family restaurant feel. They support and sponsor local schools sports. They have sports stuff all over the place. Like I said great food.

Gyro plate was good for price, with double meat it was big enough to split between 2 people. Fries: excellent! Would not recommend the greek potato, it is a boiled potato with some lemon based seasoning.

Atmosphere is comfortable and local. They give back to the Algonquin area community!

We were greeted nicely and the guy helped us and answered our questions. The place was very clean and everything well stocked.

We each ordered the Greek gyros plate which has double meat. They use fresh ground lamb with their own spice mix to create their own unique flavor profile. Meat is soft, tender and delicious. The onions and tomatoes are nicely sliced on the plate. The tzatziki sauce is creamy and clings nicely to the meat.
Order an extra pita and sauce if you order this huge plate. You’ll need it (in a good way)! French fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We could only eat a few as there was so much meat on our plates!

Super generous portions are given here! 1 gyro plate is enough for 2 people easily! I never had a chance to get to the fries. I only got through 1/2 of my plate and there was no room for desert!

Great job Kosta’s! They told me they have a Kosta’s location in Palatine too which is a much closer location.
