I had such a great experience at Ruth’s Chris Boston inside the historic Old State House. The setting alone makes the dinner feel special, classic, warm, and elegant without being stuffy. I was celebrating my birthday and they even decorated the table for me! The service was attentive from start to finish, with staff who were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on making the night enjoyable.
The steaks were cooked perfectly, rich, buttery, and served sizzling just the way Ruth’s Chris is known for. The cocktails were excellent, especially the Rocks Rita and the espresso martini, both of which were perfectly balanced and a great start to the meal. The sides were generous and delicious (the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were standouts) and complemented the steaks perfectly.
It is definitely a splurge spot, but the combination of great food, top-notch service, standout cocktails, and the unique atmosphere of dining in such a historic building makes it absolutely worth it. A perfect choice for a date night, celebration, or anyone craving a flawless steakhouse experience in downtown Boston.

Dined in recently for our anniversary and had a lovely experience! Rebecca greeted us at the front desk with a warm smile and friendly chat and brought us to our table where Paola served us for the evening. She recommended some great appetizers and drinks and was so friendly and energetic the entire time. It was so nice talking to Daniel when he came by and boxed up our food as well. Thank you to everyone who made our night so memorable, even the managers Cassidy and John came by to say hello and check on our dining experience. Will be coming back for our next anniversary!

I went for a solo birthday dinner specifically for the lamb chops and that’s what I received I reserved a seat for 8 pm because I knew it would be less crowded close to the closing time. The wait staff was very nice and there were others birthday celebrations as well I received a complimentary glass of wine and my dinner was served in timely manner hot and sizzling with my side salad of course because it was my birthday I also received a complimentary Cheesecake I love the lamb chops with blue cheese crusted it’s sooo good

On line reservations. Requested table for three in the VarvArea. Our Server was Nick S and he was great! Efficient and outgoing. Had a good sense of humor and timing. Knee we had an affair after and ensured that we got there on time. Food was great! As usual we will be back again.

This was a great experience. I thought this was so overhyped and I never went. But now that I tried it … it’s worth the hype. The steak is perfect. The end. I’m not a big fan of their sides. But I tried a corn salsa appetizer. It was really good. I would’ve loved it on a steak taco. Yum! Perfect with allergies.

Ruths Chris never disappoints. Fillet cooked perfectly medium rare with delicious sides, appetizers, and desert. Located in the old City Hall, the atmosphere is refined elegance. At 7:30pm on a Saturday, it was somewhat crowded, but the bar was wide open for walk-ins.

Came here for a Bachelor Party dinner. Excellent food. Quality service. Diego made some excellent recommendations. The 3 For option is very reasonable and comes with a starter, entre, and dessert. Definitely would recommend for a date night, business meeting, or any type of celebratory dinner. Someone came for their birthday and the staff took care of them as well without obnoxious loud singing.

Single diner attracted to the beautiful historical building initially. Done the 3-Course special and seriously enjoyed it. Steak was absolutely spot on. Cheesecake finished things off nicely.
Big shout out to the serving team, especially Sarah who was polite, talkative and informative. Great experience all round.
