We had a great time here.

I’m NOT a fan of the whole wait outside and we will make a green light appear and you can come in. Feels impersonal and feel like cattle waiting for the slaughter. I almost left so if you are reading this, I think you should rethink this.

However once inside, the team was awesome. Super nice and super good ice cream. There was room inside to sit cause it was hot.

I ordered a milkshake and it was done right! Some places make it to milky or their milk is a little sour. This place was a home run.

The Cup Ice Cream Shop is hands down the best ice cream spot I’ve ever been to—seriously! This time I tried the Almond Joy and Pistachio flavors, and they were absolutely incredible. That said, the ordering process was a bit confusing. It’s not super clear whether you’re supposed to order first, pay first, or just wait until someone tells you what to do. But overall, the ice cream is 100% worth it!

The Bethlehem Dairy Store, with it’s quaint, nostalgic vibes, and a large selection of homemade ice cream, “The Cup” as it is still affectionately called by many, is worth checking out if you are in the area. One visit and it’s easy to see why “The Cup” has been a Bethlehem family tradition for generations. An extremely popular gathering spot for the students of the nearby high school , local sports teams celebrating a victory or a consolation after a tough loss, couples young and old and of course families, it can get very busy, with a line, that at times, can stretch into the parking lot. But those that know- know it’s worth the wait. A young, energetic, friendly staff keep the line moving smoothly and fairly quickly.
There is both Indoor and outdoor seating, and in addition to the parking lot, there is plenty of convenient on street parking available. Thumbs up all around!

I am an ice cream snob. Everywhere I go, I have to try the ice cream. And the place I always compare to is the Bethlehem Dairy Store.

I’ve been going here for a decade. Their ice cream is fantastic. Homemade ice cream in pretty much the largest flavor selection you’ll find, hand-dipped waffle cones, real whipped cream, and honest-to-goodness hot fudge and hot caramel. You don’t find these things anymore. And if the ice cream claims to have peanut butter, cheesecake, brownies, or another ingredient in it, you can SEE the ingredient in it and it is what it says. The peanut butter actually looks and tastes like the consistency of peanut butter.

No, it’s not inexpensive, but the portions make up for it and the quality is well-worth it. It’s also locally owned, and iconic to the local population. There is reason that, on a hot day, this is the ice cream place that people find it’s worth waiting in a line for.

Every time I go somewhere new for ice cream, whomever I’m with will inevitably ask, “Is it as good as the Cup?” (Local name for Bethlehem Dairy Store), and the answer is always, just about without exception, “No.”

The photos that I added were my actual ice creams BTW. They aren’t stock photos. I ate them all myself 🙂

Another year gone by…. STILL my favorite ice cream place. I added new photos of my favorite ice cream trophies. And I can’t believe that I didn’t mention the staff here. They’re so friendly and positive. I love seeing them each time I come in.

Excellent sugar free selections. I tried the chocolate ice cream and it was yummy. I have had some that were not smooth at other ice cream shops. This was smooth and silky and melted similar to regular ice cream.

2025: Sugar Free Bing Cherry is my new favorite.

Very good ice cream at The Cup Bethlehem Dairy Store. We loved everything about this location including the nostalgic interior checkered floors with neon signs! The staff was very friendly with quick service. We had the Moose Track shake, the lemon Italian ice and vanilla ice cream. All were very very good! Would highly recommend this location which has been in the area for over 90 years!

One of the best homemade ice cream parlors around. The wait can be a little long on those hot summer nights but, oh so worth it. Reasonably priced seating is limited both inside and out.

This is the best icecream and dairy store in the world. There’s only a certain amount of people allowed in the store at a time which is very nice. The quality is clearly better than other places. Also the service and people inside were very helpful and pleasant.
