To put it simply, Olmo has the greatest bagels of all time. Chewy, crispy, unique, flavorful, life changing. My go to the is okonomiyaki on the everything EVERYTHING bagel. You will not find this anywhere else and it’s to die for. There’s vegan cream cheese that my vegan girls say is “the best they’ve ever had.” Every time I come here there’s something new and fun to try. The cherry on top is the smooth, never bitter coffee. Oooo and you have to try the latkes and babka! Fair warning though… no other bagel will ever compare again. I cannot eat bagels from anywhere else. It is always a disappointment. I think about you every night Olmo… I hope you think about me too…

The reviews are right, this place is amazing! I ordered the “everything everything”bagel with the okonomiyaki filling. Megan was behind the counter, dancing (discreetly) to some hip hop and clearly just bringing a lot of positive energy. When she heard it was my first time at Olmo’s, she slipped in the most incredible chocolate chip and sea salt cookie, at no extra charge. What a great experience, I wish I lived in New Haven so I could become a regular! Please note that it’s just a takeout place, although there is some outdoor seating which could be nice in warm weather.

This place definitely lives up to the bagel hype, whether you’re getting a classic bagel with cream cheese or a full breakfast sandwich, you really can’t go wrong. The different breads and cream cheese are all delicious. I was super impressed on my first visit, and it’s a spot I always want to come back to. The staff is kind and welcoming, and the space is adorable, perfect for sitting outside or check out the cool vibe inside.

Olmo Bagels at the edge of Yale University is an absolute must-visit for breakfast, boasting a culinary experience that justifies any queue! What started as a casual observation of a massive line on a bike ride quickly turned into a delicious discovery. We indulged in their breakfast bagels, and my salmon smoked bagel was nothing short of amazing—truly a 10/10 for food quality that will leave your taste buds singing. Nestled in a neighborhood rich with history, the building itself, like many along this historic stretch of Chapel Street dating back to the 18th century, hums with the legacy of New Haven’s development alongside Yale.
Despite a challenging parking situation and a 30-minute wait, the exceptional service received was also a perfect 10/10, making the experience seamless and incredibly welcoming. Be prepared to navigate difficult parking, but the staff’s efficiency and warmth more than compensate. It’s also worth noting for planning purposes that Olmo Bagels is not particularly geared towards children, with no highchairs available. This gem offers an incredible atmosphere (8/10) perfect for adults looking to savor a truly outstanding bagel. I will be back!

This seems to be a quite famous spot amongst the students. The shop is quite small and busy, so they have a system where you walk in to order from the kiosks but wait outside. Bagels were fantastic. They have some interesting specialty cream cheeses, like the elote one I tried. It had a unique tang unlike any other cream cheese I’ve had. All around great bagels. Service time is upwards of 15 minutes.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Best breakfast Sammies in town hands town but you know what makes this place even better? The ppl who work there. I’ve been here like 3 teams now and every time their workers are super chill and friendly even when it was slammed. They have the kind of vibe that I feel represents how I describe New Haven to my friends. A little quirky/alt but friendly and open/accepting to all.
When I was there today they were having personal convos with multiple customers including asking an elder gentlemen how his bday went. It’s a community spot
I rode a scooter there in the snow this morning cuz I just needed an everything bagel BEC and to my surprise they added a muffin and extra bagel to my bag and it made my day so much better. The only thing better than a muffin is a free one. The muffin was heavenly. I actually tried calling today to say thank you but it was so busy I realized I should leave them be.
Ur paying the extra dollar here for the quality and the fact that it’s a community minded spot. Worth it every time

I can’t fall any more in love with this place. Such a gem in New Haven. You can’t go wrong with any bagel or drink, just make sure you don’t skip out on the most perfect chocolate chip cookie ever for just $2. I will always be back.

Finally got to try Olmo’s and I can definitely say why it’s rated the best bagel shop in New Haven. I ordered the Za’atar bagel with spicy scallion cream cheese, which I was coincidentally told was one of the most popular combos. Needless to say the flavor is excellent and the cream cheese didn’t skimp on the spices.
Great service too – even during a rush they managed to keep things running smooth and lighthearted, and I really appreciated the friendliness of the cashier Megan!
