While the pizza here is a little above average (which we’ve ordered take out here numerous times), the same can’t be said of their takeout eggplant parmigiano subs. First off- there’s nothing to them, as the weight of it wrapped up feels like it could actually just be a piece of bread alone. Second, this subs size is definitely the SMALLEST we’ve ever had, anywhere. Third, this is Parmigiano… supposed to be-with Cheese, and this sub at best had a literal paper thin slice of cheese. Sadly, very disappointing.

We’ve ordered from here multiple times and the food is consistently very good, which honestly matters more than anything. Our go-to is the calzone with pepperoni, ham, sausage and the mozzarella, and tomato. It never disappoints. We’ve also had the manicotti with meat sauce and of course the pizza, and everything has been solid every time.

Orders are always on time and done right. Thank you for being reliably good! keep doing what you’re doing.

You want a classic family run experience. This is it. Two locations in the Daytona Beach area. Nothing over the top; just exactly what you want. Perfectly quiet and delicious. They have everything you want and it’s executed beautifully. Must try.

I visited here last week and got the most amazing pizza; plenty of toppings, cooked perfectly, and the sauce was amazing (I got extra because I love a saucy pizza)and I was super excited to return again tonight since I’m visiting Daytona again!
So I walked in and I ordered the same exact pizza; a medium meatball, onion and green pepper, extra sauce, as I got before. They were busy so it was going to be 30-35 minutes, no biggie, I went to get a coffee and came back. I took a peek at it before walking back to my hotel and it was super sad, like barely any toppings at all, cheese kinda lacking, so strange and kind of embarrassing honestly. So as much as I literally try never to be a Karen (because it’s my name, sadly), I did the unthinkable and went back in and mentioned that it seemed really lacking in toppings and was nothing like the pizza I had last week. (I had to assume this wasn’t the standard!) The person who I spoke to told me they’d give me some toppings on the side…but then took the pizza to to the kitchen and came back and said they’d have to make me a new one, it would be 15 minutes. I had no problem with waiting, I figured maybe it was an oversight or someone new in the kitchen, etc. What I was handed 15 minutes later was a pizza that was dried out and all of the onions were now black, and the cheese was solidified. Basically an overdone, dry pizza with maybe a few more veggies than originally and some crumbled meat here and there.

I can’t remember the last time I actually spoke up about food I was served, but after having such amazing pizza the prior week, I politely tried to give them a chance to make it right and what I got was even worse, so I’d say it appears they can be inconsistent, so be aware. I got the feta salad and it was nice, but the pizza really made me sad and this dinner at the beach is a complete bust. I don’t eat out much because money is tight, and now I don’t even want to take the leftovers home because I can’t imagine reheating this. I spent almost $40 with a tip and I’m pretty sure I won’t bother trying again now since it kinda felt like the replacement pizza was my punishment for “complaining”. Nobody came out to talk to me or anything. I really was surprised they presented me with a “fresh” pizza so quickly that was so overdone. What a total bummer.

* The 2 single slice pictures are from last week, an amazing pizza, and the whole pie pic is my pizza tonight, taken in natural lighting with no filter.

***Edit to add that the business offered to remake my pie, so in fairness to them, next time I return I’ll be happy to give that a shot if that’s an option (I leave in the morning). I know all too well that everyone’s standards in an establishment are not always aligned with the owners, and since I never spoke to management, I’m not even sure they were aware of the issue tonight. I’ll update my review accordingly when I return, and appreciate them reaching out.

Great Pizza and friendly service! We have been eating here for over 12 years actually so can speak to the consistency of our experiences. Genoveses is definitely worth the visit as the menu has variety and good value and quality for the price- and that in itself is a rare find. We had a birthday party for my daughter a few years back and it was easily handled. I prefer my pizzas lightly baked so the crust is lighter and doughier and they are always willing to accommodate Hubby and daughter prefer their regular baked pizzas so everyone is happy. Delivery is always friendly and prompt with hot quality pizza, too.
We are regulars and will continue to visit (or use their delivery!) when the pizza craving hits!

First time trying Genovese’s the other day and the food was very good. We had a salad, pasta and soup for takeout. Service was friendly and prompt. I would have scored them 5 stars if not for this reason – the $16 or 17 dollar pasta dish was not even half full in the tin. I have never paid such amount of money for any dish on a takeout order and received that little amount of food in return. It almost strikes me as being a mistake. There are other places around selling similar dishes for a lower price and double the food, and very comparable taste wise. They might try to argue that if it “it wasn’t ziti, its denser” but in my ten years working at Italian restaurants you fill the damn tin no matter what pasta is in there. It’s exactly what every customer hopes to receive and the very simplest and easiest way to prevents gripes like mine, no one wants to leave a place under-fed, and this is no 6-star fancy escargot french cuisine place in Hollywood. The salad, however was the complete opposite, large and plentiful and extremely well-made. That’s why I’m a bit confused. I will try them once again in the future but if I get another pasta dish and it looks like that I will likely not return. If I get what me and every other hungry person in the world expects when they pay $17 for a $2-3 max cost food item I will alter the review to represent that.

Everyone always talks about it but I had never been. Went today and it was lovely. The tomato sauce is so fresh, flavorful, and light…..I could drink it. Our server was upbeat, happy and attentive without being overbearing. Delicious…..

While visiting Daytona there were so many pizza places to choose from. It was quite overwhelming. We choose Genovese’s because of the consistent good reviews. We arrived right during rush time on a Friday night, so waited about 35 minutes for a table. This is usually a sign that you should not leave. We were able to have a beer and prosecco while we waited and the time went by quick.

We had a feta salad which was absolutely gigantic and very yummy. Plenty of dark green leaves, not just a bunch of white lettuce stalks. The pizza was quite good, and I’ve got to give them credit for their marinara sauce – sweet and delicious. I can tell they use quality ingredients in all of the things we ordered.

Walked in and Hostess at restaurant was very welcoming, he even allowed us to pick which booth we wanted. Now, gonna dive right in. I’m gonna just assume that we were the first black people to ever dine here. Waiter kept referring to us as (folks). Looked around at other tables and noticed everyone around us had bread basket’s, I proceed to ask waiter if bread was available. He advised me that they only give bread if we order an entree. Umm, I’m confused, I think that’s the reason we’re here. Anyway, placed ordered, received bread, food came out (was actually pretty good) wine was delicious (moscato), paid tab (left tip ) and headed back to our hotel. Although food was good, service was definitely lacking. We won’t be back. Thanks!

Reminds me of an old italian restaurant that has been around for centuries…….and I think it has been. The tables, the dark colors, very dim, yellowish type lighting made it feel old. But the food was phenomenal!! It tastes like fresh Italians food from Nonas kitchen. They make their own Italian salad dressing….and it’s pink. Soooo gooood…..
The waitress was nice and sweet but after the food came out we had to wait a good while to ask her for anything extra we needed. We really liked it cause of the food. We would def go back for dinner and advise others to go check it out.
