This was our first visit to Tripoli’s. I will say this was a really nice experience. Overall the decor of the place and vibe was very calming and chill. Easy place to carry a conversation. Great place for small or big groups. I’m not an expert on this type of cuisine but the Beef and Chicken was delicious. The yellow basmati rice had a nice subtle flavor though I felt perhaps a little dry. But the entree as a whole was very delicious. There’s plenty of seating though today on a Saturday they only had to waiters. They were very understaffed it seemed. Plus the two younger make waiters were quite seemingly unexperienced and they were having trouble with the small rush of people that came in. Nevertheless even though our waiter did forget my request for a glass of water. The staff as a whole was very kind and welcoming. I will still very highly recommend this place and will be returning in the near future

This place is spectacular! My wife and I I stopped by on a whim one night. Our server, Daylon, did an amazing job. He gave amazing recommendations, was knowledgeable about the menu, and very kind and chatty. We loved the Embattan— it was amazing and perfectly seasoned. My wife adored the Tunisian chicken bowl. I told the server to surprise me with something from the menu and the Hyraimi that came out was delicious. This is the best place we’ve eaten in San Antonio, and of all the places we’ve eaten around the world, we rank this with the best of them. I can’t recommend this place enough!

A Remarkable Turnaround & Authentic Mediterranean Excellence

I am updating my previous review because I believe in second chances—and in this case, Tripoli’s truly earned it. After an initial amazing visit followed by a disappointing one where we unfortunately had to walk out, I decided to reach out to management. I was met with humility and a genuine eagerness to ensure customer satisfaction. I’m so glad I went back.

The Atmosphere & Service

The difference was noticeable the moment we walked in. We were immediately welcomed by the hostess and seated. Our waiter was attentive and professional, checking in to see if we were familiar with the menu before taking our order. Our drinks—Vimto and water—arrived within minutes, setting a much better tone for the afternoon.

The Food

The culinary experience remains one of the best in Alamo Ranch.

Warak Enab Bil Lahmeh: This was a standout. The herb-infused rice rolled in tender grape leaves was bright with lemon and olive oil, and the accompanying lamb loin chop was cooked to perfection, literally falling off the bone.

Lamb Kebab Platter: The Moroccan-style ground lamb had incredible flavor from the open flame. Paired with the Basmati rice, fresh Arabic salad, Trabulsi Batata, and that signature garlic aioli, it’s a beautifully balanced plate.

We were able to enjoy our lunch peacefully, and the timing between courses was spot on. While we didn’t have room for dessert this time, the offer was a nice closing touch to a great meal.

A Small Suggestion

As a fan of the aesthetic here, I’d love to see the owner invest in some coasters! The wooden tables are beautiful, and it would be a shame to see them damaged by condensation over time.

Final Thoughts

It takes a great business to own their mistakes and an even better one to fix them. Our waiter did an amazing job, and the service was beautiful. If you are looking for wonderful food, a lovely atmosphere, and an owner who truly cares about their patrons, look no further than Tripoli’s. My family and friends will be hearing nothing but good things from me, and I look forward to my next visit!

Honestly, tripoli’s is one of the only places here where you can find authentic North African food, and it truly tastes like home. The flavors, spices, and quality were all on point. Everything was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor.
The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was kind and professional, and you can tell they really care about their food and customers. If you’re looking for real Mediterranean / North African cuisine, I definitely recommend this spot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visited Tripoli with my partner and loved it! We tried labneh with cherry tomatoes on za’atar bread—absolutely delicious. I had the beef kebab plate with garlic aioli (really great flavor), and my partner enjoyed the chicken shawarma wrap. Drinks were refreshing, especially the strawberry Limonada, and dessert—fig gelato with Turkish coffee—was a perfect finish. Friendly service, amazing flavors, and can’t wait to return!

I gave this place two chances, and unfortunately it missed the mark both times. The food looks the part, but the flavors and freshness just aren’t there. The cucumber-tomato salad tasted tired, like it had been sitting overnight instead of being freshly chopped. The potatoes felt completely out of place — more like breakfast diner potatoes than something that belongs on a Mediterranean plate.

The kofta was the only thing with decent flavor, but everything else was surprisingly bland for a cuisine that’s normally vibrant and seasoned well. I left wishing I had gone two doors down to the other Mediterranean spot, where the food is consistently fresh and actually tastes like something.

Service was also slow, and even the sweet tea wasn’t sweet — it had to be taken back and sugar added on the spot, which unfortunately didn’t fix it. When the drink and the sides both miss, the whole meal just feels off.

There’s potential here, but until the food becomes fresher, better seasoned, and the experience more attentive, I won’t be returning.

“My family and I visited Tripolis tonight and we absolutely loved it! The ambience is amazing, with beautiful décor that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The service was great, and most importantly, the food was a perfect 10/10. Everything we ordered appetizers, entrees, the rose lemonade was delicious, the deserts, the cappuccino was wow! We will definitely be coming back — or ordering to go! Highly recommend!”

Top notch service and amazing Mediterranean cuisine. I was thoroughly impressed by their salads, freshly made hummus and rice bowls. To top it off we had some of the most delicious lattes. Their chef is definitely serving only the BEST authentic dishes. The owner and Mars were extremely professional and helped us with selections on the menu. The ambiance is true perfection and I was completely blown away by their salads decor. All in all 10/10.
