Sixteen years and countless cocktails later, The Patterson House begins its next chapter atop The Bill Voorhees Building on 8th Avenue South. A pioneer of Nashville’s cocktail culture since 2009, The Patterson House continues to deliver its signature blend of tradition and innovation now through two dynamic drink menus: a modern menu of frequently changing original cocktails and a longer menu honoring The Patterson House classics with 150 rotating selections, plus a curated non-alcoholic list, wine and beer.
To match this breadth behind the bar, the newly expanded food program brings a more plentiful array of dishes designed for both snacking and full meals, all thoughtfully created to complement the bar’s ever-evolving program.
Upscale bar serving craft cocktails mixed with care in a cozy, mellow setting.

Finally checked out the new Patterson location with some friends! We loved the old spot, but the new vibe is even better. It’s so open and bright, and the windows give you the perfect view of the city lights while you eat. The food, drinks, and service were all 10/10. Definitely try the Garden Grove Smash cocktail—it’s so good!”

We had reservations for Fri night. Drinks were excellent! We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the drinks getting produced. They no longer have deviled eggs. You have to take the elevator up to bar.

Super solid place to try crafty cocktails. Bartenders are knowledgeable and will help you to pick the right drink. They also take great care in ensuring the drinks are just right and it is awesome to watch them work. Quiet so you can have a conversation and very cozy. A new regular stop for every visit to Nashville.

The craft cocktails were cool, lots of different interesting concoctions. The service was exceptionally slow. It’s a bit too dimly lit to actually read the menus without looking like an old fogie and using the flashlight on your phone (awkward). Also… To top the night off, it’s on the 5th floor and we got stuck in the elevator and had to press the call button in the elevator for assistance, as the elevator wouldn’t move, wouldn’t open, it was my worst nightmare! Luckily we had a strong man in the elevator who was able to pry open the elevator door, so we had to walk down the 5 flights of stairs. Fun end to a night… Not!!!

Our experience at The Patterson House was nothing short of exquisite. I have never experienced such thorough, genuine, and engaging service quality in my life. Pat, Adam, and the entire team didn’t just make us feel welcome—they made us feel at home. The food by Chef Matt Atkinson was absolutely delicious, with some highlights being the local lettuces salad, the fried green tomatoes, the ricotta toast, and the cheeseburger. Every drink we ordered felt like the best one we ever had, until we had the next. Overall a must-go!

The cocktails and food were phenomenal! Everything came out pretty quickly. The city view at night was great. Our server was welcoming and attentive all night to our big group of 8!

This is one of the most memorable bars in my mind. I actually stumbled upon it from a Bourdain which I use any time I’m in a new city. Love to follow in that man’s footsteps. Patterson House was everything I like in a cocktail bar. Dimly lit, strong selection of bar bites, excellent background music ( I believe Tom Waits’ dissonant yet pleasant tracks were drifting through the air that day). And of course I have to mention the cocktails- the few I tried were balanced, the menu had a good variety of selections, and the staff was expertly crafting them and eager to help with any selections. All around a damn good bar.

This place is an Experience that all must try if you want something new and different! I have been a patron for nearly a decade and this is the place that I take anyone that is visiting Nashville. The new location is better positioned, shorter wait time, more seating options and the proximity of parking is better because the garage is nearby, even though it is paid-parking. The menu will satisfy a plethora of taste buds and interests. This is a hidden gem in Nashville.

I was very excited to visit and try several cocktails, since I had read both on Google Maps reviews and Reddit that this place was simply amazing. We went on a Friday night, it was packed, and we sat at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and offered to explain the menu.
We tried the President Suite (a miss), the Seasonal Mango Negroni (a hit), the King (a miss), and the Seasonal Corn and Raspberry Sour (a hit). From this visit, we noticed that the seasonal menu was stronger and more interesting than the established menu.

Sumptuous, beautifully balanced cocktails. Yes, they’re pricey, but oh my, are they worth it! We had dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food – pickled plate; beef tartare; pork chop (with an unbelievably tasty and complex sauce) and cacio e pepe with mushrooms. Service was friendly and solicitous, but not overbearing. Atmosphere is elegant and welcoming – low lighting and soft jazz.
