You watch them prepare the food and choose your toppings. I’ve traveled all over the Middle East. This is tasty, fresh and a fair price. Im a regular. Friendly staff too
I went to request a partial refund but they were concerned about their other customers taking a bit of time to get to me and I needed to get back to where I had left my food unattended at the table on the other side of the restaurant. So I just went back to my table and just continued to get water refills.
The placed does not seem to be designed or organized right. It seem too tight and narrow the area to get the soft drinks was too close to a table where there was a large group of people. When this group decided to leave, they had people blocking the paths to get from the counter (where I was at the time to get my partial refund) back to the area where I had left my food. I could not go by where the soft drink area was down that aisle as someone was blocking that path and the other path to the left to go down that aisle, someone was blocking that and I had to wait there as they were taking their slow time to leave. I just had to make my way around one of the people (excuse me). They should not have that table or seating area so close to where the soft drink kiosk or fountain drinks are located. It is too tight of squeeze especially if a fairly large group of people decide to sit there.
So I ate the pita, fries with some ketchup and drank plain water quietly and after done, I just left not even bothering to request the partial refund for not benefiting from the carbonated soft drink of Coca Cola Zero. I figured I would post a review in lieu of the partial refund –thus this. They did not even try to fix it as I tried several times (4 times) to see if it would dispense anything other than seltzer water or clear carbonated water with no Coca Cola syrup.
Another thing, minor, After I was done and wanted to discard the paper, used plastic utensils, protective paper on the tray, the garbage area seemed to be partially blocked by some child seats. I had to maneuver past those seats or reach over them to discard the waste and placed the tray on top of the garbage bin area.
Over all, I felt I made a mistake ordering the Pita as it was filled too much that it tore apart and I had to use a spoon, fork to eat it. I should have chosen the bowl which I had at the other Naf Naf in Naperville the day before. That meal did not include the soft drink so there I drank water as well and they served that with bread to scoop up the hummus and other things placed in the bowl meal. I paid about $11 or $12 for that one in Naperville and it seemed better organized but heard it may move to the Fox Valley location?? That would be unfortunate to close the Naperville location if that what I interpreted from them … There was some sign there on the outside.
I think Cedar Grill in Downers Grove is a bit better for this type of Middle Eastern food. Stick to what you know (my advice to myself).
The fragrance of fresh Pita, falafel, shawarma, and assorted sauces is simply unbeatable.
I decided on a pita falafel sandwich—a freshly baked pita (their signature style) loaded with evenly chopped cold cucumber salad and hot falafel smeared in Tahini and every bite was the burst of flavors in my mouth.
Naf Fries are unlike fries because they aren’t fries but Chips & I loved them owing to how crunchy and delectable they are! I gobbled them all.
Must try— S’khug (Green hot sauce), Harissa (Chilli pepper & Paprika) sauces!
Coming to the overall cleanliness of the store, I like that the restrooms are kept clean, so are the tables. (Indoor & outdoor)-
