I grew up eating here and it was always great. The people, the food, the atmosphere were always great. However I recently went for the first time in probably 6 months and it was not good. The food has changed. Idk if it’s changed ownership or what but I wish they would stick to the original recipes because that is perfect. The BBQ is also super spicy now and buffet has limited options. There was also no peach cobbler which I’ve always gotten since I was a child and I saw they put pancakes and waffles on the buffet. It’s a BBQ buffet, not breakfast. Was disappointing and I miss the way it used to be. I probably wont be going back now that I know what to expect now.

First visit and the food was amazing!! My eyes was bigger than my stomach and I consumed heavily. The tea was perfectly sweet and I enjoyed every bit of this country spread!! 5 star menu… no need to add seasoning!

The food was great. I was there last Sunday. That stuffing and the cabbage was delicious. The gravy was tasty. Fried chicken pieces were too big. But it was good.

On the website it clearly says that yall don’t close until 8:30 PM and my boyfriend and I drove all the way from Hartsville to eat and we get there at 8 and they told us they were closed and it was the owner who told us that! Every time we have ever been we have felt rushed anyway so we will not be going back ever again. Sorry but not sorry!!!

This restaurant was built in the small town of Scranton South Carolina when I was just a little girl. Oddly this was the first time I had eaten here. I was absolutely amazed! The only issue I had with this restaurant was that it did not take debit or credit cards. They do however have a ATM machine at this location.

I love this place. I just get take out when I’m passing through. They’ve been there a long time and know how to cook. Friendly staff and great food. The Que is perfect to my taste and the bar b que chicken is awesome.

So I’m a little torn about this place. First and foremost, the restaurant facility is beautiful, clean, and huge. The service was also great. As for the food, I felt it was just okay. The bar-b-que is pepper vinegar based and it was delicious. The buffet options were plentiful. I just felt everything on the buffet, except for the que and dessert options, were lacking in flavor. I’m also not down with the style of hash. It’s pretty much chopped liver stew. Just my two cents.

Another stop on the SC bbq trail in the books! This was my first experience with authentic eastern Carolina bbq. It was amazing! The pulled pork had a great vinegar flavor with red pepper flakes. The “hot gravy” was delicious over pork skins and the pulled pork. The liver has was very unique. I’m used to the hash you get down in the lowcountry and this was very different. I did enjoy though. All the traditional SC bbq fixins were present of course. Great little joint with plenty of seating a great decor. Atmosphere was great as well and the staff were all kind and welcoming. Felt like I was regular and this was my first visit. I highly recommend you check them out if you’re a bbq aficionado or just a casual diner looking for a solid meal! Also, at $13 a piece for an all you can eat buffet is an outstanding deal!

Rode to the School House BBQ with the Throttle Down Motorcycle Ministries RC on Saturday. Beautiful Scenic ride to Scranton,SC . The building reminded me of a Nostalgic Old meeting Hall setting. The buffet offered southern comfort food priced at only $10 all you could eat. Clean, friendly Staff, Happy environment,Yummy comfort food, and huge parking lot across the street at the closed gas station for additional parking. All Required CDC Protocols were followed( No touching spoons without disposable gloves, masks worn by all staff, social distancing and low capacity).
