We are staying at our place in Goose Creek this weekend and decided we would give Angie’s Lighthouse Cafe a try after having some friends tell us how good it was. They did not disappoint in the food and service once we got in. We had a long wait due to the hostess not writing our name down and sat outside for more than 25 minutes watching others go in and out. I will say though, once they got us sat down they had us waited on immediately. Larry was super friendly and took care of us. It was totally worth the wait. I had the “Lighthouse Beacon Special” and it was a super filling meal. My best advice is to Go hungry! The biscuits and gravy were delicious. The biscuit itself is huge and the gravy was as good as I have ever had. Not one complaint from either of us and we will be going back. All I can say is have your name repeated by the hostess before you step outside. Definitely an A+ restaurant.

Came here for the first time, specifically to get the shrimp and grits. I’ve traveled the country trying shrimp and grits at every place I stop that has them and I’ll say, it’s VERY rare to find good ones. Most people haven’t had proper shrimp and grits with roux. I’ve even been places that put cheese sauce and other nonsense on them instead. It’s especially disappointing to get dry s & g’s with not enough sauce which is why when I ordered these I asked for extra.
I would give these 3rd place of all the one’s I’ve eaten around the country and in Louisiana. The flavor was great. I got my extra roux so I knew it would be more saucy but it was very soupy since the grits were also soupy. The only thing I think they could change would be to make the grits more firm. It was a good dish though. I would definitely eat them again if I’m ever in the area. Good job
Update – went back a second time and it was even better than the first time. We got the fried Bodi sandwich with okra, hash browns, fried pickles and the shrimp and grits again. It was all outstanding today, except the macaroni and cheese. It was a milky undercooked mess, not cheesy at all. Don’t recommend.

Oh my, what a hidden gem! John was our server (Go Bears!) with my first time coming in, I brought my stepson. When we ordered I didn’t realize how late it was to my son’s doctor’s appointment and requested to go boxes with our meals. He did better than that, brought to go drinks, a plastic bag with to go trays and the check! I couldn’t have been more appreciative of him respecting my time. I will definitely be back with the rest of my family many more times! Great food, fresh and plentiful. I’m a shredded hash brown person but the home fries are the best I’ve ever had! The French toast came out so fluffy and big. The lunches coming out to the other tables were steaming and fresh, I can’t wait to try out the seafood for lunch! Be sure to tip your servers well!!

Man I absolutely love this place! Great food, awesome service, good prices.
Almost always busy (and im very impatient with waiting) so I go during the week or order to-go haha. Eitherway, so worth it. Seems like the owners also run everything, are very nice and down to earth. The waitress we had was serving the entire restaurant by herself, busing tables, cleaning, and checking customers out. Will keep going here for sure.

Here in NC to visit family for vacation and what an amazing find. I can’t say enough. Nice atmosphere, staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely amazing. I Wil most definitely be back when I am here in NC again. I recommend if you are passing through or staying on the island you stop in and treat yourself to a phenomenal experience.

We went for breakfast this morning to give them a try and we weren’t disappointed. We arrived between 8:30-9:00 and parking wasn’t bad, we were seated right away and the coffee was great. The food was amazing and service was great. We will definitely be back!

We have been long time customers of Angie’s all the way back to the original building when it transitioned from The Fairway. So let’s just say we have been there quite a few times. Today we went there about 10am and were greeted by the hostess and told her it was a party of two. She said it would be a 20-30 minute wait and we said no problem and gave our name and phone number and sat outside on the bench. After 25 minutes our phone rang and as it was still ringing we got up and proceeded inside and as we entered it stopped ringing. So about 25 seconds had elapsed from the time it started to ring and when we got in the building to wait behind another customer checking in.
We told the hostess we just got the call and she said well you didn’t answer in the meantime she gave our table away. We explained to her that the phone was still ringing as we were coming in the door and we silenced it so the ringer would not disturb the customers as we were 5 feet away from her saying we got the call. Instead of making it right she said well could wait for the bar seats to open up but she had given our table away in a matter of 25 seconds. Unfortunately due to her lack of professionalism and courtesy and commitment to make things right because she had made a mistake we decided to leave and go to Birdies for breakfast and it was great!!!
My real question is if you don’t have a phone with you would she walk 5 feet from the hostess station out the door to call your name if your table is ready. Because there is no waiting area inside the restaurant.
I don’t care how good your food is if your customer is substandard than the food will never be worth it. So with that being said we will not be back.

What a gem we found this morning!!! Madison was delightful. We were seated and served fairly quickly. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all delicious – pancakes, waffles the Currituck Sandwich (a must have), cheeseteak omelet and more!!! The portions were huge and the food came out piping hot, the way my husband likes it. We will have to go back for lunch!!!

The shrimp and grits were excellent. Full-size shrimp in creamy grits with bacon, tomatoes, and onions, and a little spiciness, would highly recommend. Came with a toasted biscuit which was also very good. Others in our group all enjoyed their meal. The burgers on the menu also looked very good but didn’t try. Great breakfast spot but busy so plan accordingly.

Absolutely worth a stop. Got eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon, coffee, and orange juice. All great. High quality very crispy bacon. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Pancakes were crazy fluffy and good. Home fries were so crispy. My toddler ate every one of those home fries. Service was spectacular. Didn’t even know who my waitress was as all of the staff stopped by and checked in. Nice atmosphere. Well maintained. Food was affordable. Drinks were a little overpriced, but very happy with the experience.
