Last Sunday morning my dad and I had breakfast at the Diamond Horseshoe Cafe in Cheyenne, spending about an hour there between 8:30 and 9:30 AM. As soon as you walk in, it feels like a classic old-school diner, the kind of place that’s clearly been around for a while and has a steady group of regulars. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and we were seated quickly even during the breakfast rush.
Our orders were taken right away and the food didn’t take long to come out. I ordered the sausage omelette with cheddar cheese, hash browns, and an English muffin. The plate, shown in the photo, was generous and served hot. The omelette was cooked well and tasted good, and the hash browns were nicely browned. Nothing was wrong with the meal, but it also didn’t really stand out as anything more than solid diner food. It was straightforward, filling, and exactly what you’d expect from a traditional breakfast spot.
Overall, this is a dependable place for breakfast if you’re in Cheyenne and want a relaxed, no-frills diner experience. It’s a good fit for locals, travelers, or anyone looking for a familiar breakfast without surprises. If you’re chasing something unique or upscale, this probably isn’t it, but for a classic diner meal with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere, it does the job just fine.

I was just passing through, but I saw lots of regulars that knew the staff. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. The food was what I wanted from a diner, and it was a good price too! It had the small town feeling for sure, which I appreciate. Good food, loyal regulars, and friendly staff, that’s what a good diner is, right? This place checks all the boxes. Certainly better than the chains like Denny’s or Perkins. Oh and did I mention I had excellent service? 5 stars

Went in on a Saturday morning. We heard it is a place to take family from out of town. It is not a place I will bring family from out of town. The food was an ok. The waitress was swearing and talking about drugs with customers. They were all loud. That was a damper on the atmosphere.

My wife and I have tried 8 or 10 breakfast places in Cheyenne over the past few years, and we’ve got to admit, Diamond Horseshoe has become our go-to favorite. What’s not to like? Really good food; fast, friendly service and a cozy, diner-type atmosphere. This time I had the Classic two-egg breakfast with ham and my wife had the Classic with chorizo. We both also had sides of green chili. Our food was great, the green chili has just enough heat to be interesting without overpowering the flavor of the food or melting your face off. Service was fast, and the food came out fresh and hot.
Parking can be challenging at times when they are really busy due to location. All in all, we recommend Diamond Horseshoe to anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price! We will be back again!

Pretty good food! The omelette is thoroughly cooked. Just the way I like it. The hash browns are actually browned and crispy. The biscuits and gravy were pretty good, served with chipped beef instead of sausage gravy. Not bad, and a good portion for eat too. Affordable prices.

Family home cooked vibe at an affordable price. Both waitresses were top notch. Very friendly and courteous. One thing I look for in a waitress is the genuine conversations some places you go to it’s like they read from a book This place did not do that. You were able to have genuine conversations with them. Highly recommend this place for breakfast And I have no doubt they’d be good for lunch or dinner if they serve that.

From the moment I walked in, this little local gem felt like home. We had a small wair but definitely worth the wait and gir a chance to observe interactions. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a warmth that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff—they’re not just friendly, they go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels cared for.
The service is thoughtful without being overbearing, and you can tell the team genuinely enjoys what they do. It’s rare to find a spot where hospitality feels this authentic. The food was fresh, delicious, and clearly prepared with love—comforting and satisfying in every bite. Our pancakes came out a little tough and our server replaced them straight away without any hesitation. All the staff was full of smiles and laughter. My favorite part is the wall of “regulars” personal coffe cups. Our server pointed out a few and told fun facts about the owner.
If you’re looking for a restaurant that combines great food with a truly welcoming spirit, this is it. A wonderful reminder of why small local places will always have something special you can’t find anywhere else! This restaurant was definitely won my heart! I will travel from Pueblo CO again to visit!

First time. Greeted immediately. It’s an old school, “ma & pa” little diner. Probably 15 tables, booths, and a counter. Lots of nice Western art and pictures. It was as great as I was hoping for! Just like you would expect. Fantastic, attentive service, surprisingly good coffee, fresh eggs, awesome pancakes, and large portions. You won’t go away hungry! Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved it here, the food was fantastic and tasted home made. Was not a fan of there sweet tea or the booth seats but other then that over all a great experience. The waitress was super kind and the food was super cheap huge bang for your buck compared to other diners paid 10$ for my order 8$ for the full plated of biscuits and gravy with a side, super filling!
