We ate lunch here for the first time and really wanted to like it, but unfortunately the burgers, while they looked good, completely missed the mark. The bison patty was small with an unpleasant taste. On the positive side, the onion rings were delicious, the tater tots were good, and our beverages were fine. The service was friendly, and the restaurant itself was clean and welcoming.
Overall, the burgers just didn’t deliver, which was disappointing given our expectations.

Glad I tried this place again, the chicken biscuit was pretty good, the hashbrowns were perfect and the biscuits and gravy were pretty good too. Everything you’d want in a morning breakfast.
I’ve gotten food here a few times and it’s been great but today, it was less than desirable. I always start 5 and work down and sadly this place as good as their hamburgers are, worked. I asked the staff member 7 times if they heard my son order a large tots. They confirmed 7 times and he received a plate of 5 of them . I tried to order my meal and had to repeat it 9 times and it still came out wrong. My burger was wrong and my fries weren’t even the fries I ordered and had ranch on them that I specifically said I hate and won’t eat. When I brought my issue to the staff they said they must have misheard me and walked away
Ordered from them again and got told that they didn’t have hashbrowns and didn’t have biscuits and gravy. Not sure who’s controlling inventory but….
The scramble was pretty good, for the price the servings were a little small but the gravy was solid and developed and the hash browns were crispy and tasty. Good and solid diner food in the local area. Worth a shot.

Got takeout from here. Spicy chicken sandwich, onion rings, and brunch burger. Food was great, service was quick and workers were friendly. I was disappointed my brunch burger didn’t have all the toppings listed/that I selected, it only had egg,and cheese so that was super disappointing.
Update: I returned and ordered the brat sandwich and the spicy chicken egg rolls. Once again my order was completely incorrect, thankfully I checked before I got home this time. When I make the worker aware my order was messed up they acted completely clueless as to how to fix it, I then tell them what it’s missing and they only fixed half of it. I finally gave up and just accepted my food and left. Food taste amazing but fighting and begging for my order to be correct will keep me from ever returning.

Cow Head offers some standout items — the chicken tenders were flavorful, the onion rings crispy, and the fries cooked just right. The burger itself was fine but nothing memorable. One area for improvement is cleanliness, both in the dining space and in the water/ice system, which had an off taste. A little extra care here would make the overall experience much better.

What an absolute surprise! The best onion rings in the world are habd made, visible for all to see. The Jucy Lucy was great as were the fries and chicken tenders. Great, friendly staff.
The place is in a plain (kinda boring) building, but the tastes are bold and flavorful. FWB is so lucky to have this restaurant.
Looking forward to the next visit. Definately a must stop restaurant.

Sorry to say this bc I love cow heads I’ve always had a great experience eating there but today, we walked in at 3:20 no employee in sight. We sat ourselves and got menus and waited 5 minutes to see if an employee would come up from the back or something. No one ever came. We started saying hello like 3 times loud no answer. I went searching for an employee looked in the back where they cook looked in bathroom. Never saw anyone so I go to go out the back door and there is a group of young adults all by a grey sedan smoking and as soon as they saw me two people came inside. One with black hair went into the back room and the other with blonde hair just went to doing mobile orders. We stayed for another 5 minutes waiting for them to collect themselves and come greet us as costumers. No one ever came or talked to us so we walked out.

This is a seat yourself and order at the register type of restaurant. Beware that parking can get quite crowded during prime lunch hours. We walked in, grabbed a menu and took an open table. Once we decided, we ordered at the front desk. The host will bring your food out to your table. I had the BYOB steak patty and it was delicious. Super juicy with a perfectly toasted bun. Added on a side of fries for an extra charge. Had a scoop of icecream to finish the meal. Overall this place is cheaper than most restaurants in FWB. Great place to grab a quick burger when you’re craving one!

After settling in at the hotel my family and I were looking for something to eat. We saw that CowHead was about a few minutes from the hotel, so we went there. Once we arrived at the restaurant it was a little busy. Once we were ready to order the staff that was helping us was very patient with everyone. I decided to order the Philly Chick Sandwich and Onion Rings. I love the onion rings they were flavorful and the batter they used for them was excellent. The Philly Chick Sandwich was just ok. It wasn’t anything special. I think the chicken needed more seasoning.

This is an amazing place for a burger! (Don’t be off-put by the name.) The burger was the juciest I’ve had. The shakes are delicious and creamy: just what you need on a hot day. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. Don’t miss this stop on your visit to Fort Walton.
